Voice Trivia

Recommended Posts

Any facts relating to eliminations or steals/saves. If a coach has always had their artists survive to Top 8 every season, always had an artist eliminated in the Top 12, etc.

I'll start with a simple one:

Joana is the last KO Steal remaining of Season 17 and the last Steal/Save from Pre-Lives(As the battles save/steals have all been eliminated)

Joana also defeated an OG Team Blake member(Cali) as Joana used to be on Blake's team.

I think this is the first time since season 8 that a PV (Max Boyle) is eliminated on the first live show instead of a CS (not counting S13 because no live PO's).

Is this the first time that a coach's final three have all been of minority backgrounds? I think, but could be wrong, that Joana identifies as Latina.

Wasn't Alicia's final 3 in S11 all minority too?

Sarayah - AA

We - AA

Christian - Latino/Hispanic

but yeah I did notice Gwen has all minority ethnicities in her final 3.

thanks! So basically, Alicia had the first minority team, and Gwen had the first all-women minority team.

Before S17 and excluding the bloodbath T13 in S16, Team Blake only lost a contestant in Top 12/13 twice -- S3 (Michaela Paige) and S7 (Jessie Pitts). Both times, Blake won the season - S3 with Cassadee Pope and S7 with Craig Wayne Boyd. Team Blake also had the runner-up for S3 (Terry McDermott).

In both S3 and S7, Blake picked the non-country contestant over good country singers who didn't get the public vote - Liz Davis in S3 and James David Carter in S7.

In S16, when they had the 13-8-4 format for the lives, Blake had 6 members in the Top 13 and lost 1 (Oliv Blu). Blake finished with 3 finalists but lost the trophy.

S17 is the 3rd time Team Blake lost a contestant in non-bloodbath Top 13 - Cali Wilson, also a non-country artist picked by Blake over a country singer (Gracee Shriver).

John had stolen artists from every other coach he's worked with, except Blake. :haha:

Those artists were

Celia, Jimmy Mowery (stolen from Adam)

Beth, Alex (stolen from Kelly)

James violet (stolen from Gwen)

--------

Kelly is the only coach who has occupied 3 different chair positions.

Cali Wilson is only Blake’s 4th contestant to go home in the top 12/13 round, the second to have lost a save in the top 12/13, and the first original Blake contestant to lose a save in that round.

That list is:

Michaela Paige (S3) - OG Team Blake, no Twitter save yet

Jessie Pitts (S7) - Stolen from Gwen, lost Twitter save to Ryan Sill

Oliv Blu (S16) - Stolen from John, no Twitter save option (bottom 3 eliminated immediately)

Cali Wilson (S17) - OG Team Blake, lost Twitter save to Joana Martinez

Also worth noting, the 3 girls that did ultimately land in the bottom 2 and get eliminated were all indie/alternative.

They still do twitter save? I thought it was already replaced by the app.

Not counting S13's pre-taped playoffs, Max Boyle was the first contestant to get a PV in the playoffs and be eliminated the next week since Mia Z in S8.

Thank you for reviving this thread. I love trivia.

4 of the Top 8 had their auditions air in the first episode of the season (Katie Kadan, Will Breman, Rose Short, Kat Hammock). Hello Sunday aired in Episode 2, Jake Hoot and Marybeth aired in Episode 3, and Ricky Duran aired in Episode 5. None of the semifinalists aired in 4, 6, or 7.

There are 0 steals left in the semifinals. (The only other times this has happened have been in Season 15, and Season 3.)

Will Breman is the only "Coach Choice" left (someone who didn't win PV and had to be saved by the coach).

As far as chair turns go, here's what we have left:

(4) Ricky Duran, Katie Kadan, Marybeth Byrd

(3) -

(2) Kat Hammock, Rose Short, Will Breman

(1) Jake Hoot, Hello Sunday

Kelly has both of the 1-chair turns on her team, and neither one was a steal. Kelly turned for 6/8 of the semifinalists (she didn't turn for Kat or Will).

Shocking stats. So my question is, were the other coaches instructed not to turn so both Jake and HS had to pick Kelly--to give her a chance at the win after being left out of the finals last season, or was that just weird pure coincidence?

If all that was planned, then don't be shocked if the choir is for HS.

Since S13, every T8 instant save only had contestants of the same gender.

Seasons 13, 14 and 16 had all men fighting for the finale.

Seasons 15 and 17 had all women singing for the finale.

With Ricky Duran's defeat, this marks Blake's longest losing streak of 4 losses in a row.

Jake is the 2nd 1-chair turn to win and Kelly's 2nd country winning artist.

Jake Hoot is the first Voice artist to have 6 singles in the top 10 on the country chart. He is also the first one since season 9 to have the number 1 song on Itunes before the finale with Desperado. His duet with Kelly is also the highest-charting duet ever on the show (top 2). Let's not forget his achievements.:yes:^_^

Season 11 was the only season with only one white female in the top 12. Curiously enough, she was an indie girl :dead:

There were three white girls in the top 20 (Kylie, Darby and Belle), no one of them got the PV.

From top 10 onward, there were only black females:

Team Adam-

Brendan Fletcher (Coach save, folk-rock, male)

Billy Gilman (PV, pop/country, male)

Josh Gallagher (PV, country-rock, male)

Simone Gundy (Eliminated, soul, female)

Riley Elmore (Eliminated, jazz, male)

Team Miley-

Aaron Gibson (PV, rock, male)

Ali Caldwell (PV, pop, female)

Belle Jewel (Eliminated, indie, female)

Darby Walker (Coach Save, indie, female)

Sophia Urista (Eliminated, rock, female)

Team Alicia-

Josh Halverson (Eliminated, folk-americana, male)

Christian Cuevas (PV, pop, male)

Wé McDonald (PV, show tunes?, female)

Sa'Rayah (Coach Save, soul, female)

Kylie Rothfield (Eliminated, rock-blues, female)

Team Blake-

Sundance Head (PV, country-soul, male)

Austin Allsup (PV, rock, country-rock, male)

Dana Harper (Eliminated, soul, female)

Jason Warrior (Eliminated, soul, male)

Courtney Harrell (Coach save, soft-rock, female)

Top 12 Elimination Order:

12. Sa'raya, Soul, Last song: "Livin' On A Prayer" :dead:

11. Darby Walker, Indie, Last song: "Your Song"

9. Austin Allsup, Country Rock, Last song: "Missing You" :dead:
