DANNY GOKEY Season 8 - 3rd Place Favourite Performance: What Hurts the Most   lol I just realized I never got around to posting this, and now I'm tired after spending hours in the sun meeting some of the Bengals, so this won't be a proper dragging. Danny Gokey was a contestant from the eighth season of American Idol who made it all the way to the third place. People joke nowadays about X or Y being the most pimped contestant, but I can only assume they never actually saw season eight. Danny Gokey is without doubt the single most over-pimped, over-hyped and overrated (by production) contestant American Idol has ever, and will ever, have.   Danny Gokey's pimping in S8 makes Lauren Alaina's S10 backing look like Hollie Cavanagh's. Danny Gokey's pimping in S8 makes Alejandro Aranda's look like Kris Allen's. Danny Gokey's pimping in S8 makes... well, you get the point. Danny Gokey's pimping in S8 made Adam Lambert's look tame. At least Adam could actually live up to said hype!   It'd be one thing if Danny Gokey had been capable of turning in any good performances in season eight. He wasn't. It'd be one thing if Danny Gokey had been at all likeable in season eight. He wasn't. Instead, Danny Gokey turned in mediocre performance after mediocre performance, and was being treated like the second coming of David Cook. Make it make sense... make it make sense!   When you had contestants like Allison Iraheta delivering FLAWLESS vocals being told she wasn't good enough, followed by Danny Gokey turning in one of the worst Idol performances ever to Dream On and being given an A++ for effort, you know the show was going to stop at nothing to get the finale they wanted. Thankfully production was stupid and didn't forsee that Allison being screwed over was gonna lead to Kris Allen dominating the final two rounds of voting. Danny Gokey was eliminated much too late in the season at third place, and we got to finally see something good happen that year. Season 8 sucks, and Danny Gokey's continued presence is a big reason why.   SAVE: Chayce Beckham  

I'm still so stunned by your dislike of Angie Miller 2.0 Abi. I thought she would have grown on you by the end of her run.  Though maybe her fans messed that up on here?

LOL Jack with his intro video and then singing that "All My Exes Live in Texas" song was something else, lmao.  I don't know what he was thinking on that finale but probably trying hard to get that country vote from Will + pickup Triston's votes?  It's interesting how you liked Jack less as the competition continued because I liked him more and more as the season went on. I liked him more where he sang songs I knew/liked and I just enjoyed him more and more. Def disagree on the Kayko comments but that's okay lol.  Will was fine and solid. He had some good and solid performances, but he's just a contestant I didn't care or root for. But I get him making it to 2nd.... and I guess I wasn't that frustrated about it? His run was better than Triston's. Agreed completely with your Abi comments. She definitely grew a lot on me through the course of her season and became more interesting and fun to watch. Agreed that she peaked at the right time and deserved to win. Of this Top 10, I think she would be my second favorite after McKenna. Don't agree too much with your rankings but that's okay.   Yayy for the high rankings for Abi and Julia (Julia would probably be 3/4 for me). Kinda surprised Will is that ~low for you, as  I thought he would have been in your Top 3. I'd have McKenna and Jack much higher.
