Based on my letter grades:

  1. Cami: A (I rarely give out As, but giving Cami below an A would've been illegal tbh)
  2. Taryn: A- (Queen T 💖)
  3. Sid: A- (He's very good, I just preferred Taryn slightly more)
  4. Liam: B (interesting combo of falsetto & growl)
  5. Ryan: B (technically very impressive, just not my thing)
  6. Madeline: B- (that high note she hit at the end of her audition was great, but otherwise she was kinda forgettable)
  7. Chloe: B- (tonally very smooth and I liked her song choice, but she got kinda sleepy at parts)
  8. Aaron: C (I'm not gonna call him Dollarama Daughtry officially, but...)

1) Cami (stunning)

2) Ryan (absolutely amazing, deserved four chairs)

3) Madeline (potential dark horse, she held back a lot)

4) Sid (amazing even though he’s not my style)

5) Taryn (really good, a bit pitchy though)

gap

6)  Liam (he’s good but nothing spectacular)

big gap

7)  Aaron (not my cup of tea)

gap

8. Chloe (a lot of work needs to be done)

1. Cami Clune - 9.9, The Best Audition so far. Simplicity is beauty, she didn't need to belt to impress.

2. Ryan Gallagher - 9.0, I heard this song many times as a duet, but man he's so good even without a partner.

3. Sid Kingsley - 8.4, I almost like the song choice and the performance but I preferred Owen Danoff's version which is more folk.

4. Taryn Papa - 7.8, almost got some Lauren Duski vibes but ALMOST.

5. Madeline Consoer - 7.0, I remembered Jackie Vena in her singing, good though.

6. Liam St. John - 6.9, good but I prefer other past versions.

7. Chloe Hogan - 6.0, I'm still stucked with Brynn Cartelli's version.

8. Aaron Scott - 4.2, I love rock but not so impressed.

Fantastic

1. Cami (Everything was on point, but her vibrato is something else)

2. Sid (He’s like a Southern Jeffery, which is a huge compliment)

Really good

3. Taryn (A great audition sadly crippled by the band)

4. Ryan (Very solid, he was a pleasant surprise)

Ok

5. Liam (Loved the growl but everything else was just ok)

6. Madeline (It was fine, not a fan tho)

Meh

7. Aaron (The dollar store version of Daughtry)

8. Chloe (Really boring, mostly because of the song. She wasn’t bad however)

Contender for Audition of the Season

1. Sid Kingsley - Just wow. The control was impeccable and as John said, a true Tenor 1, and his high notes sound amazing.

Spectacular vocals

2. Cami Clune - This was so delicate and beautiful. Expecting great things from her.

3. Ryan Gallagher - He's amazing, wish he would've sung something less overdone.

Great as well

4. Taryn Papa - Bandzilla victim, but great high notes.

5. Madeline Consoer - Liked this more than I thought I would.

Could be better

6. Liam St. John - There are many better versions out there, but he's good.

7. Chloe Hogan - Probably the weakest vocal performance out of those who turned a chair, but I like her voice.

Fodder alert!

8. Aaron Scott - Thought he was ok, but not a fan of this style of rock.

Really loved tonight! A lot of the repeat covers were the best versions I've heard on the show thus far.

1. Sid Kingsley (9.5/10) - Ok wow! Finally a good/not stale version of this song on the show. An interesting soulful take that paid off. I'm definitely a fan now.

2. Cami Clune (9.5/10) - I went in with high expectations and she met them all! I'm surprised this hasn't been covered more often on the show. Definitely the best cover of the song they've had.

3. Liam St. John (8.5/10) - Finally someone that didn't do that piss-poor excuse of a cover that Maroon 5 did. I appreciate what he added to the vocal. I can think of a ton of song choices that he could nail.

4. Aaron Scott (8/10) - Probably the biggest surprise of the night for me! Not only did he get a great, unique song choice - he did it very well! I was also surprised how decent Blake's in my heeead sounded but that's besides the point lol.

5. Ryan Gallagher (8/10) - Very pleased with his performance! A great surprise.

6. Chloe Hogan (7.5/10) - This could've EASILY been much higher, but the song choice affected that. It's just not the right song for an audition like this if you want to impress. Thankfully she still pulled Gwen, but most of it was well done but uninteresting. It wasn't until the end where she really excelled. Hoping for more moments like that!

7. Taryn Papa (7.5/10) - Bandzilla, but her voice still powered through. A very solid version! I hope the country audience treats her right.

8. Madeline Consoer (7/10) - Like Chloe, she got stuck with an unfortunate song choice. It wasn't bad at all, but I was waiting for it to get better throughout and it barely did towards the end. Hearing her stuff out of the show, she's much more capable than what her blind showed!

  • Expected Sid and Cami to do very good but they literally blew my away, best of the night
  • Ryan was great as well
  • I liked Liam more than I thought I would
  • Taryn kinda disappointed me, I just went in with extremely high expectations, she was still decent
  • Madeline was good, I think she can do much better though, excited to see if she improves
  • Chloe was nice, refreshing I'd say, didn't blow me away, had some rough moments but I liked her style

1) Cami Clune - Breathtaking, reminds me of like indie-pop crossover singers

2) Ryan - Amazing, he deserved four chairs and he might the right choice choosing Kelly

3) Sid - Wow! Loved it and I had such low expectations for him

4) Madeline - UNPOPULAR but she’ll be a dark horse and there is just such an ease when listening to her it’s amazing.

5) Taryn

6) Liam

7) Chloe

Aaron would be like dead last
