There’s a chance Wendy just doesn’t know what wins this show. She might think huge range, power and belting is what the audience wants to hear. I believe someone here mentioned that they have met before, I don't remember if it was during a tour or a certain performance, and it wouldn't surprise me since almost everybody in the country music scene gets around. She has a really lovely tone, like she displayed in the first part of her blind, but the songs she's gotten don't allow us to hear that side of her voice. This battle was great, don't get me wrong, but like some said, it's not going to move the needle for her. I doubt she's TCO anyway though, so its understandable. Edit: it's fine though, because battles don't really move the needle for almost everyone. Kyla Jade literally had "One Last Time". Not surprised, it was a tad disjointed (and John had a point about it feeling like two different styles/vibes going on or something like that, forget the exact words) but the individual vocals were very good. The song choice could’ve been better, or at least better arranged, but at least it’s the battles where song choice tends to matter less anyway.
