Ashes - Celine Dion, really needs to be done, like Maelyn could have done it, Katie Kadan as her "grand ballad" its been 2 years since its release lmao, I'm tired of "Praying" and "Never Enough" already. Get some of Celine's recent slayages on here when they have artists who can clearly sing it!

And it's penned in part by an alum/winner of the show - if there's any other reason they could use to pull the "someone do this song" card, that might be it; I don't see it happening this season but if we get someone in the "powerful-but-tender" lane next season, then that's going to go straight to their song suggestion box.

Idk, I think there are some Ariana Grande songs that have only been done once/haven't been done before that are good picks. (Still waiting for someone to sing Needy). Injoy's performance of 7 rings was really fun.

 

Also, someone doing "Resentment" by Beyonce would be a moment!

Dream a Little Dream of Me (I like all of these)

1. Amy Vachal (S9) - a really delicate, intimate-feeling version of the song that works really, really well - it also had a couple of bigger notes towards the middle of the song that contrasted nicely with the rest of the song rather than clashing. 
2. Preston C. Howell (S17) - this spin has a very Disney-prince feel to it, and I'm not mad about that fact; that level of smoothess and vocal control is something that's rare in someone that young, especially a teenage boy whose voice is still changing.
3. Livia Faith (S14) - really solid and she left the show way too early, but it's just a smidge below the other two for me personally.

 You forgot to mention Kat Perkins' cover of Chandelier which IMO tops Jordan's as the first.

 

 

Some people think she was nasal, but for me it was her at best. The scenario with a lot of chandeliers is remarkable as well.

Reviving this thread with another song that gets done a decent amount:

 

Joni Mitchell - "A Case of You" - currently at 5 performances in 18 seasons

1. Madi Davis (9) (Though I have zero idea how Pharrell/TPTB ever thought Madi vs. Amy was a good idea for a KO matchup, I can see why Pharrell picked Madi at the end of the day - not only is this stunning, her tone/general vibe would've made her a riskier steal pick-up than Amy because Adam and Blake are both suckers for jazzy-crooner types while Madi's more folky-indie style is something Pharrell is very good at handling.) 
2. Addison Agen (13) (I almost put her ahead of Madi, but at the end of the day I just couldn't given I liked some of her other stuff better while this song was my favorite of Madi's run on the show; however, she does get points for doing this live whereas Madi's was in a pre-taped round.)
3. James Wolpert (5) (His run on the show was kind of a mess at times, but it's easy to see how this won the public vote in the playoffs and got the lone iTunes bonus of the round to boot.)
4. Troy Ramey (12) (This was rather "eh" compared to the other versions above, but of the four choices Gwen had for a coach save at that point this was the smartest one even if he got cut a week later.)
5. Rebekah Samarin (7) (She got the first triple-montage in show history - nobody deserves that, but the fact they didn't feel the whole song was worthy of making the show makes it the lowest spot on the list by default.)

Tbh the first three on the list are relatively even for me, with a big gap between James and Troy. Other artists who I think would've been solid choices for this in more recent seasons: Maelyn Jarmon, Zan Fiskum, Joanna Serenko, and maybe Marybeth Byrd.

Season 18 was the first full season since the song's release where someone hasn't done Mercy (it came out October 2016, so partway through Season 11 but nobody in that season would've suited it anyway). That said, I'm not saying if Michael Williams had made it past the playoffs they wouldn't have tried to give that to him, but it'd fit into his wheelhouse better than it would've for the rest of Season's 18 cast.

Kind of late to the party here, but can I finally say I’m sick of Someone You Loved? Song’s been performed five times in five seasons and never once have any of these performances been particularly great. Even Hailey, who was otherwise pitch perfect, messed up the lyrics to a… distracting degree.

Yeah and pretty much every performance is on the scale of meh-decent. Yk pretty neutral on all accounts.
