LOL Yesss, I'll never get over Dennis' "This Woman's Work" pulling off the biggest upset in this game.   But honestly, it really was an amazing performance and deserving of its win so I'm glad it pulled off the win, of course!

I'm not one to care what wins or not in these games, but Dennis pulling off the win while the Maddie and Jurnee fans went after each other was one of the most satisfying results, especially after he was paid dust during the season.

Jeremiah was one of the fan favorites going into the top 20 with the lovely tone of his voice and his backstory about being a gay pastor's son. With his performance of "Make You Feel My Love", Jeremiah became one of the frontrunners of the competition. Jeremiah kept it simple by staying behind the piano for the entire performance, but sometimes simplicity is the key. His voice soared as he hit every note and he emotionally connected with every single lyric in the song. Jeremiah received a standing ovation from all three judges for this performance and very easily earned a spot in the top 14.

Loved Jeremiah's "Make You Feel My Love" performance and thought this was another very deserving winning performance.

Unfortunately the season was impacted by the COVID pandemic, but luckily Just Sam still delivered a standout performance safe from her living room that deserves to be remembered. Covering "Rise Up", Just Sam showed a lot of emotion and put her entire heart into this song. Just Sam's raw potential was on full display in this performance on finale night and the judges were blown away. Despite going up against four men in the finale, this performance helped solidify Just Sam's win, also becoming the first queer women of color to win American Idol.

The second Grace Kinstler walked out onto the stage in that stunning red dress, everyone knew we were gonna witness a moment. Tackling Adele's "When We Were Young", Grace delivered a magical performance. Grace started the performance off slow and then built it up so when she hit the chorus, she was able to hit those power notes she's so known for and blow everyone away. The judges raved about Grace's performance here and it helped Grace advance, and soon solidify a spot in the finale of the season.

Grace's "When We Were Young" was such a stunning performance!  

 

I think this was one of my lower ranked performances to win, and in hindsight I wish I could have had it higher. But I still really loved it and thought this was fantastic and a deserving winning performance.
