"American Idol" winner Laine Hardy was arrested Friday after an ex-girlfriend accused the singer of bugging her dorm room, according to a warrant. Hardy, who won season 17 of the popular singing competition in 2019, was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a charge of interception and disclosure of wire, electronic or oral communication after LSU police arrested him, a school spokesperson told NBC News. I also heard that he was dropped from his label recently (and that he's no longer listed on Hollywood Records's roster). He was removed from the Hollywood Record website a while ago. His performance on Monday’s show was a duet with Laci, so I’m not sure how they’re going to handle it. They should ask Laci back - not for another duet - but to perform solo. It is very unlikely we will ever see Laine back on Idol. An Idol winner in jail with a warrant for their arrest? He was probably my favorite male artist during the ABC run other than Christian Guardino. I hope Laine doesn’t have to serve jail time but if he does it is because he broke the law. There's big news outlets with this news & it says Laine admitted to planting a bug. The official document to book him stated that he admitted to putting a bug when he was confronted by her.
