i understand that everyone has their own music preferences, and i also know that the app percentages don’t really matter in the grand scheme of things, but i think it is absolutely outrageous that such a skilled and incredible vocalist like Dana has the third lowest app percentage out of all the contestants so far. her audition song choice may have been rather generic, but she is one of the best singers this season and deserves so much better. also note that the only three black women to turn a chair so far on the show have the three lowest app percentages... minivan what’s up? i just needed to get that off my chest🤬

I completely agree with you. However, I think there were other factors that caused them to have horrifyingly low percents. Dana slayed vocally, and I’m sure you and a few others on here (including me) loved it, but she doesn’t offer anything new or interesting to the same AA female powerhouse mold that the producers give us every season. Christine gave us a cool version of a pop song, but failed to deliver vocally. Pia did a nice job vocally, but sang in a style that appeals to a select group of people. While I definitely think their race and gender played a part in their low turn percentage, I think after looking at their performances it makes sense why they were so horrifyingly low.

I agree that other factors may have played a role in their low turn percentages. Dana’s song choice wasn’t the most unique, Pia’s reggae song may not be everyone’s cup of tea, and Christine’s song may not have allowed for her to do a lot vocally. I do see the argument as to why Pia and Christine don’t have higher percentages. It just upsets me that Dana can give a performance with so much power, energy, and range and still have the third lowest app percentage. She gave, at least in my opinion, one of the best auditions so far, and it just feels disrespectful for someone with her level of talent to have such a low percentage. However, I don’t know if app percentages have ever been a good indicator of anything on this show, so I may be making a big deal over nothing😂

Yeah, it is a disappointment... 🙁 At least app percentages usually don’t matter when it comes to voting.
