2019 Dancing with the Stars Rankdown

Redfoo

IPB Image

After randomly appearing as a ~Totally Qualified~ guest judge for season 18's party anthems week. Redfoo had his turn as a contestant in season 20, where he was one of many celebs who contributed to the season being very lackluster overall. He is one of the many bad partners that Emma Slater has had to dance with over the years. Week 1, he & Emma danced a Cha-Cha to "Juicy Wiggle" - his own song because it's mandatory for all singers to dance to their own songs at least once. They scored a 22 out of 40 for it, which tied for the lowest score of the night. Week 2, he had a vast improvement with his Jive to "My Sharona" that scored 31 points. It was too little, too late though and he was sent home based off of that disastrous week 1 dance that he did. Redfoo is fun, but not a good dancer and obvious fodder in this set of nominees so he can go.

Belinda Carlisle

IPB Image

Belinda Carlisle is known for being a part of the iconic all-female band, The Go-Go's, and her number-one single, "Heaven Is a Place on Earth". She was on season 8 of Dancing With the Stars and danced with frequent unlucky pro, Jonathan Roberts. Their first dance, a Waltz, was very awkward and clompy and received 17 points with 6s from Carrie Ann and Len and a 5 from Bruno who meanly compared her to the much, much, MUCH worse dancer, Cloris Leachman. Belinda and Jonathan's second dance, a Salsa, received good reviews for the performance quality but criticism for the lack of hip-action and weak technique and received a score of 18 with 6s from all three judges. For the first five weeks that season, there was a dance-off where the bottom two couples performed their Week 2 dances again and were rescored by the judges to help determine the elimination. Belinda's score decreased by one point and she became the first eliminated celebrity from season 8. While she wasn't the worst dancer that season, her dancing wasn't very remarkable and I decided to cut her because there are other nominated contestants in this round who are way better dancers than her and who deserve to stay in the rankdown.

Saving underrated robbed queen Natalie Coughlin, the best swimmer-turned-dancer on DWTS.

What's that supposed to mean?

Jamie Anderson is an athlete whom many consider to be a trailblazer in her respective sport; She was the gold medalist in the inaugural Women's Slopestyle Event at the 2014, and she repeat it at the 2018 Olympics. Her new found fame at the Olympics made her the perfect candidate to appear on reality TV - she appeared on Celebrity Appearance where she was fired early on. Due to her appearance on that show & the success at the 2018 Olympics, she was the perfect candidate for the 26th season of Dancing With The Stars, also known as the athlete season... She was paired with Artem where they were eliminated during the first episode after their Viennese Waltz for which they received a 19 out of 30. Anyway, this is quite the generous spot for her considering that, in this rankdown, she outlasted celebrities whom outlasted her on the show.

Misty May-Treanor

IPB Image

I feel bad for cutting Misty, she's not the worst one in the group but just the one I find myself having the least memories of, other than that she got injured and had to withdraw. I also kinda wanted to continue the Season 7 cull and give us an iconic top 4  Misty had potential and did fairly well in all three of her routines, scoring 21 points for each. She was pegged as a frontrunner for a little while, with her scores in the first two weeks being in the top half. It was a shame to see her go as early as she did, but I feel like none of her first three dances, nor much of her time on the show, were anything too remarkable therefore I'm cutting her here.

Impressed how long and far Jamie Anderson made it despite only having one dance. :haha: I do wish we could have saw more of her on the show, but then I could say that for everyone on that All-Stars season.

:dead: @ the Kristin photo Lily posted. Although ugh yeah I was so upset with her elimination in S13. :/

Amber Rose

IPB Image

Amber Rose was on the 23rd season of Dancing with the Stars. I was initially confused as to why she was a celebrity. I guess she had her own show.... Amber was partnered with veteran partner Maks. She flatlined during the first 3 weeks of the competition scoring 6's (and 1 7). when she danced a Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz and Salsa. She was able to turn up the heat in week 4 getting her best scores (a 24 out of 30), for her argentine tango, easily her best dance. The next week she went down to 7's for her Cha Cha Cha. After those string of 7's she was eliminated in 9th place. I found Maks way more exciting to watch. She was also the first woman celeb eliminated on her season. Outlasting 4 guys is outstanding.

Save: Niecy Nash and her jiggly bits.

Amber outlasting four male celebrities despite being somebody the general audience would likely hate... iconic

She and Maks were super underwhelming that season but also between her call-out of Julianne and then dating her partner's brother after getting eliminated, I kinda have to stan.

I still find it hilarious that her then-boyfriend's future wife danced her Samba with Maks in the Finale :haha:

Albert Reed (Season 5)

Albert Reed is a pretty handsome supermodel that appeared on the fifth season of the show. Albert partnered with Anna T. during the competition, after she took two seasons off from the show. Albert dedicated his time on the show to his grandfather, a former ballroom dancer, and his grandmother. That is pretty sweet. Unfortunately, Albert only lasted two weeks in the competition before his elimination. Alec danced a Cha Cha during Week 1 and a Quickstep during Week 2. For both routines, Albert scored a 21. His final average is higher than three contestants that outlasted him in the competition. Albert was probably eliminated too early, but he is forgettable at the end of the day. No harm done in eliminating him.

PRISCILLA PRESLEY

IPB Image

Priscilla Presley is a $cientologist, so that seems like reason enough to cut her. In real life, she is most well known as the widow to Elvis Presley and mother of Lisa Marie. She turned Graceland into one of the most successful tourist spots in the entire United States, so kudos to her. On Dancing With the Stars, she was one of the celebrities cast to appear as if there were dancers other than Kristi Yamaguchi. She was partnered with Louis Van Amstel, and the two of them made it all the way to eighth place. She never scored above a 26, which is pretty good considering this was an earlier season where they didn't award 7s for walking. Her lowest score was a 21, which she received on the week she was ultimately eliminated.

SAVE: Charo
