The beginning was solid though a bit of a bore. The 2nd half of the performance turned it up a notch. There was variety to his ad libs and they felt like a part of the song. Very concert like performance.

 

Ross Clayton -With or Without You - 6

The belts sounded good, but the softer parts wavered a lot.

 

Cait Martin - Alone - 5.5

Opposite of Clayton. She missed most of the belts, which is this songs bread and butter

 

Gina Miles - Wicked Game - 8.5

Her best performance easily and arguably the best performance this season so far. Insane depth in her lower register and absolutely ethereal in her upper register.  She showed off some impressive breath control in the end there too.

 

Neil Salsich - Have a Little Faith in Me -  6.

This was solid but easily his worst performance,, probably the first time in the competition he actually missed some notes. Not a lot, but noticeable enough to bring the performance down.

 

Tasha Jessen - Here - 5.5

Her voice sounded thin and out of breath

 

ALI - Never Alone - 6

Like Neil, mostly solid with some notable misses

 

Michael B. - The Joke - 5.5

Almost everything sounded off tbh. The runs, the belts, the softer parts.

 

Holly Brand - Bring On the Rain - 8.5

Gorgeous, her tone really shined here, and even during ballads there is an undercurrent of power. 

 

Ryley Tate Wilson - when the party's over - 8.

definitely the most felt performance of the night and showed some impressive range to boot. Falsetto sounded much better here than in the battle, and showcased his lower register which we haven't seen till now. Voice Crack was noticeable but happened at the least important time.

D.Smooth - Location - 8(Did a lot with it in the 2nd half, but besides that it was just a good vocal)

Ross Clayton -With or Without You - 6.5(He tried, but it fell too flat. A few parts were solid though)

Cait Martin - Alone - 6(Not too bad, but this was her roughest vocal. She has slayage taste in music though, stanning Miss Celine Dion is the right thing to do)

Gina Miles - Wicked Game - 9.5(I have a couple issues with her placements, but overall a slayage vocal and that's how you hold a note out girl)

Neil Salsich - Have a Little Faith in Me -  7(A bit too repetitive, but he got it going in the 2nd half)

Tasha Jessen - Here - 7(I'm surprised she did as well as she did tbh, some notes got away from her, but a fun performance overall)

ALI - Never Alone - 8(Ali's best here, she showed up and came to fight. Loved how her runs flew together here)

Michael B. - The Joke - 8(Woah, I'm surprised, he also came to fight for a spot. Iffy parts in higher moments, but very solid)

Holly Brand - Bring On the Rain - 9.5(I'm glad she went for a softer side here, very beautiful vocal with the right amount of power. A couple minor placement issues, but she can only grow from here)

Ryley Tate Wilson - when the party's over - 9.5(That's how you make a comeback from not having a KO. What an emotionally haunting vocal, this was close to being perfect, but I just think he sang some notes with abrupt endings and it didn't flow too well, great vocal though)

 

Niall proving to be a better coach than Chance, taking his best. Kelly just had to bring Holly, then it was just a free choice after, ALI or D.Smooth would be solid choices. I'm sad to see my fellow stan, Cait, go after she kept hyping up Celine but whatever.

He had issues in some parts, but there were many parts that were outstanding. I really loved his high notes, and growls here. His stage presence is amazing as well. 

 

 

Kala Banham - My Funny Valentine - 8.5

 

Great vocals, but her tone didn't let me enjoy it as much as I wanted.

 

 

Rachel Christine - The Only Exception - 9

 

Very underrated, tbh. I loved this a lot. Thought she showed great amount of vocal strength and emotion.

 

 

Jamar Langley - The Thrill Is Gone - 7

 

Can't pinpoint why, but I didn't like it much. We've heard far better versions of this song before. He still did ok though.

 

 

Grace West - Love Is Alive - 9.25

 

I love her tone, and it shined here as well. I also love how she remained on pitch throughout. That last note was very impressive, she held it for, like, 8 to 9 seconds.

 

 

Manasseh Samone - Speak the Name - 6

 

A lot of issues throughout the performance. I don't think this was the right song to showcase her voice.

 

 

Kylee Dayne - Flowers - 6

Honestly, one of my fav PO performances of the season. His runs were smooth, his tone is great, and he showed a lot of emotion as well. I listened to the original version, and couldn't understand what they were saying. But when Ray sang it, I was able to understand every single word.

 

 

Mary Kate Connor - If I Die Young - 6

Sorelle - Something's Got a Hold on Me - 9.25

 

I have to admit, it wasn't as good as I was expecting it to be, but... I still loved it. Their harmonies were fantastic as always. Madi has improved a lot. Bella's vocals are always incredible. Loved Ana as well, didn't know she can do runs like that.

This was really surprising to me. I seriously didn't know he is that good. I liked his adlibs, and that part too where he had a little fun with the mic. The first half wasn't as enjoyable, but the second half was fantastic.

Loved some of her notes, but overall a disappointing performance. Expected much more from her.

She's great, I have to admit... Just not for me.

 

 

Michael B. - The Joke - 8.5

 

Wow, didn't expect him to do well with this song. He just connects so well with the songs, and he hit some impressive notes and runs as well. I initially thought he might go off the rails, but I'm glad that wasn't the case. Nice to see him finishing the season on a high note. I just wish he would've had performances like the ones he has posted on his YT. (No Peace, All I Ask, The Prayer, Our Day, etc...)

 

 

Holly Brand - Bring On the Rain - 9.25

 

My personal fav performance from her so far. It didn't have as many dynamics as her KO, but the emotion she showed here puts it above the rest of her performances for me.

Wow, just wow. What can I say. What a fabulous performance. This gave me chills. Esp that closeeerrrerrr part, it was so good. I didn't expect to like it that much, but wow, he was just that good. This kid's got huge potential.

Gina Miles - All I Want - 5.5 (I'm sorry I didn't like this, vocals were fine but it was boring and didn't do anything for me)

Sorelle - Fallin - 9.5 (this was honestly a slayage)

D Smooth - Thinking Out Loud - 6.25 (this wasn't bad but I just didn't like it much idk, I wasn't a big fan of some ad libs or really his tone in general)

Wow this was really not that good of a night huh, expected for first lives I guess but still...

They never fail to impress me. The perfect song choice for them and their harmonies are special.
 

D.Smooth - Thinking Out Loud - 8.5

Not another Ed Sheeran cover again  By the way, he is the pleasant surprise of this season, and he did the best he could with this cheesy song that used to be a bus for Jaclyn and Gih&Halley battle. I thought this was a creative arrangement, and I am not disappointed that I joined his fan thread this time.
 

Grace West - Til I Can Make It on My Own - 9.75

Queen of this season. Such a risky song choice yet the performance was pitch perfect.
