I gave it a C. Sheer Element and Kala were good, but they gave us that gimmick Jimmy audition at the end

Kala is the only one I'd really go back to honestly. Might have to relisten to Sheer Element some more times - maybe I missed something, it was good but the consistency wasn't there as much as Kala's imo.

Start was excellent, but I feel like we lost her a bit once the song got big. Still, good job.

Enjoyable, but that´s about it, not much to stand out.

Yeah..this didn´t work for me.

Probably one of the more vocally impressive auditions so far. The runs, belting and harmonizing on top of that were on point. 

 

2. Kala

 

The start of the performance is some of the most tender vocals I've heard on the show in a while. Her lower register might be my favourite tone of the season so far. But she didn't keep the same vocal depth and lost that tonal quality when she went into her upper register. It wouldn't be much of an issue but I didn't particularly like her tone up there either.

 

3. Carlos rising

 

Solid vocal performance. Nothing stood out but there wasn't really anything wrong with it. Curious if he has more to show.

 

4. Magnus

 

Also a solid vocal performance. Tasteful runs and nice, warm tone. But I can't be the only one who thought his falsetto was a bit on the weak side?

1. Kala Banham (9) - Favorite of the season so far! Surprised by the flip but I loved it. Looking forward to her for the rest of the show!

2. Carlos Rising (8.5) - A very welcome surprise! Smooth throughout and definitely a standout vocal for me.

3. Magnus (8) - Pretty solid, although admittedly I wish he did something different and more exciting. 

4. Sheer Element (8) - Very impressive moments throughout, but not something I'll be clicking back onto.

 

Annoyed at NBC for the Jimmy Fallon thing without a trigger warning. Yuck.
