Ok, this one is probably ranked a little high for me... But a lot of my favorites were eliminated long ago, and blame recency bias.  It wound up cracking my Top 5 because as soon as I watched the pilot, I was instantly hooked and found myself watching all 3 Seasons in the span of a few days. I was originally skeptical because I've heard from friends of mine who have watched it to be sure to watch the Spanish version with subtitles and not the dubbed version, and I tend to have a hard time getting into shows and movies where I need to follow with subtitles. I didn't have that problem at all with this show. I was captivated from the very first episode. I talk in a lot of my other writeups about how much I love mysteries. Any show that gives a good whodunnit plot is always a winner in my book.

 

The show is a Netflix original that has currently aired 3 seasons. If I had to describe the show I would probably say that it has strong similarities to Gossip Girl and Cruel Intentions with an overarching mystery plot. Certain aspects of the storytelling are a little reminiscent of 13 Reasons Why (with the flashbacks blending with the present, and the episodic focuses on certain characters, esp in season 3 of Elite). It's edgy, it's trashy, and it's completely compelling. The show takes place at a secondary school named Las Encinas that is for the wealthy. Three students from more working-class families are given scholarships to attend, and are immediately met with pushback from their wealthy classmates. As the three get entangled in all of the drama of the school, we see glimpses of flash forwards of the investigation of a murder that occurred. Season 1 is all about getting to the bottom of said murder. Season 2 then deals with the fallout from that murder, and also has a new crime to solve since one of the students (Samuel) has disappeared, and most of the season leads to investigating that. Season 3 yet another student has died, and the police are back to investigate once again. I don't want to go into too many more details because a lot of the fun of the show comes from the reveals.

 

So, it's a lot of murder for one school, but I definitely recommend that people give the show a chance.  It's a quick watch, and the cast all give solid performances. I don't normally watch Spanish television shows, so the actors were all unknown to me before starting the show. It's the guiltiest of my most recent guilty pleasures, and while it will definitely fall down the list in my mind as time goes on, for now it sits right near the top! My favorite binge watch of recent memory.

Elite is probably get a bunch of tanked rankings because all the stuff that happened in the few last rounds. For a moment I thought of ranking it at #20 so I could give better rankings to other shows that actually had a shot of ranking high, by in the end I decided to rank it according to my actually liking and that is the reason why it is my number 4 now.

 

 

Elite is a Spanish thriller drama series that has been on the air since 2018. It has aired 3 seasons so far with 24 episodes and it has already been renewed for a fourth season, but with a entire new cast.

 

The show is set in Las Encinas, a fictional high school for high class students. During the beginning of a new school year, three working class student enter the school through a scholarship, beginning a lot of drama between the them and the wealthy kids. 

 

During the first episode of the first season, we see through a flash forward that a student has been murdered during one of the events of the school. Throughout the season, the police run an investigation and interview all the students from the school to find out who the murder is. It is revealed in the final episode who the killer is. 

 

During the first season we can also see this:

 

 

 

 

 

 

Season 2 revolves around the killer and some friends trying to avoid the police and the rest of the school to find out who the killer is. At the end of the season, everybody finds out who the killer is. We also get more great scenes:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

During season 3 the killer is release for lack of evidences. The rest of the students try to cope with living with a killer amongst  them. Some of the other studies also try to find the evidences to prove the killer is guilty. And we see another murder happened in this season. Also more steamy scenes:

 

 

 

 

 

 

I really loved the show as it had all the right ingredients to keep you hooked and binge watch the entire show in just three days. The next season is gonna be with a different cast which I think it's fine cause I really like the season 3 finale and it serve as a great ending for the story developed in the first three seasons.

No shade, this was one of the two shows I had absolutely no interest in checking out in any way. It doesn't seem like that much fun to drag and I can't imagine myself liking it at all so I was too lazy to watch the pilot. Like I know there's probably a million differences between The O.C., Pretty Little Liars, and Elite, but it's horny teenagers played by 30-something year olds balancing high school drama with federal crimes. Did all three need to be in the endgame?

This gif is what I think a lot of people are going to say when ranking this show. I don't even want to talk about this show because I feel so bad about the drama that happened behind the scenes because of this show. It's sad tbh. I feel bad for Rei because he was an innocent bystander in all of this. The effort it took to get this show into the Top 20 was hustle worthy but excessive. It caused someone to get banned or suspended. I'm still not sure the details. I guess it's taboo to bring him up but I do miss Vee so it does sadden me to know what occurred and I currently have negative energy with this show. That will eventually will go away as I know this show does have steamy gay scenes. Two guys making out? Hot. The show is a Spanish thriller on Netflix that currently has three seasons. Netflix has renewed the show for a fourth and fifth season. On a positive note, I hope one day the drama can be forgiven and Vee's ban/suspension will be lifted. He was my friend and I know a lot of others too. I will get of my soapbox now. I'll watch this show for you Rei! And Vee.

First of all, my apologies to any of its fan but Elite is getting a low ranking from me as it's the only show in this Top 20 that I've never heard about until this rankdown. What is this show about? According to my good friend, Wikipedia, it is a Spanish thriller teen drama that was created for Netflix. It takes place in an elite secondary school where we follow the relationships of three working-class students and their wealthy classmates. The show explores different themes notably some sexual theme. And one of my observation of the show seems that the students wear an uniform inspired by the Dalton Academy Warblers. To conclude this write-up, I have a feeling that I may like this show which I may giving it a try one-day.

I also didn't realize it was a Spanish show, although I see now the way the title is written with the accent (technically Wikipedia says it's stylized as  E L I T Ǝ).

 

Anyway, the story of the show takes place at an elite secondary school called Las Encinas, and focuses on relationships between a group of teenagers who are there on scholarships and their higher class classmates. The show explores themes that are common for teen dramas,, and has a flash-forward plot with a mystery element, which reminds me of a certain show. It looks like the clash between the working-class teenagers and the wealthier students leads to a murder. This sounds interesting and I did think awhile back it may be something I'd want to watch at some point. I don't know if I will or not.

Élite is probably the show I am least familiar with of this Top 20. I never got to watch it but it was fun shocking the world saving this show when it was up on those 17 noms round.  Which I did do as a favor request at the time. Élite is a Spanish thriller teen drama dries that airs on Netflix. Élite has aired for 3 seasons with 24 episodes starting on October 5, 2018 and is currently. There aren’t any names I am familiar with from the cast.
