I just learned about them making it to #1 in ITunes from Youtube, and I am so happy and proud of them! I have been a fan of GNT since their Blind Auditions and I'm just so happy that they're actually doing good even after the show. At the same time it's perfectly them - their style, harmonies, tendencies and their story. (Even Parade of Lights is a real place in Archbold, Ohio, says its proud local paper of the mention.) Checked the song credits. There are two new writers credited with GNT - Toby Gad and Skylar Mones. Looked at their Wikipedia, links below. These guys are the pros from Dover. They also thank a specific person at Republic, which means they have an advocate at the label. That seems to have been missing for most Voice winners. Like you said, the song feels a little different, but still perfectly them. It's a great song, just about in my top 5 of their originals, though I prefer some of their other originals on their earlier tour that I think they wrote all themselves. Those are a bit more unique, this one is a little more generic (for lack of a better word) in overall feel and melody. Which probably does help sales. It's great they're getting the exposure from the Voice again. Their album was doing ok during just in the top 100, but it made a giant leap and is also #1 in Canada. It's great they have a record out to Leo the momentum going, so many Voice winners don't release anything until they're pretty much forgotten. They have been VERY busy all year lol but they have some shows coming up on the west coast in around spring, so I’d say they will be on then. Kelly wanted to have them on her show the morning after the finale last year but she knew they wanted to go be with their dad. Glad they seem to have some sort of backing from the label, more than past winners at least. Interestingly, the song didn't pick up traction on Spotify.
