I think that I considered the Top 20 week and the Top 14 week as the Semifinals, making it two weeks. You may have just considered the Top 14 week as the Semifinals. I think it'd make more sense to just do it all on Sunday again like last year and make the Monday night the results/WC performances, and just skip the Top 14 round completely. So Top 14 is two episodes while Top 20 is one episode? How would a Monday overnight voting episode work anyways? Would they reveal results on next Sunday? Top 20, then Top 14, then Top 12 Top 14 will work like it has the past two years - they perform on Sunday, we vote. The next night, the Top 7 are announced and perform their "victory" songs while the remaining seven perform their second chance songs for the judges' wildcard spots. The only difference is the Top 20/21 show will have voting, and they'll announce the 14 moving on at the beginning of the Top 14 show. As for the second part, they don't want to have live voting on the Monday episodes because they're not able to air the show live in all timezones on Mondays (think of all the talk shows, local affiliate news programs, soap operas, etc. that air during the weekdays) compared to being able to do so on Sunday.
