Elliott Posted January 4 Share Posted January 4 (edited) After an extended hiatus (we'll call it building anticipation ), the Drag Race Rankdown has returned for a fifth time and we are looking for the newest champion to take the crown! THE RULES We will have a group of rankers that will embark on a mission to collectively rank every drag queen from the English-speaking Drag Race franchises - RuPaul's Drag Race, Canada's Drag Race, RuPaul's Drag Race UK, RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under, and Drag Race vs the World. As much as I would like to incorporate every franchise that is currently airing, I know few (if any) of us are up-to-date on every season. At the beginning of the round, random.org will determine the order the rankers will nominate. Whoever is chosen to nominate first will nominate a predetermined amount of contestants and the other rankers will have 24 hours to save one and eliminate one. Once the nominations have been revealed, it's first come/first serve for eliminations and saves so get to it fast! Each write-up should be at least 100 words and include a photo (or a GIF) of the contestant in question. If you want to get your cut in right when you see the nominations and want to take time for your write-up, you can post who you're cutting and saving, and you will have 20 minutes to get your write-up in. However, the queen is back up for grabs if you take too long to edit - i.e., if you make your cut and save at 12:15, you have until 12:35 to post your writeup. Another ranker cannot swoop in and take your cut and/or save until 12:36! I understand things can happen suddenly, so you are only one single refresh per cut/save. After decisions have been made on those contestants, the next ranker will do the same thing, and the other rankers will then save a queen and eliminate a different queen. We will cycle through all the rankers until they have been nominated and then the round will end. Once the nominations are posted, you will have 24 hours to make your cut and save. (If you are going to be away for an extended period of time or expecting to be busy, please let me know ahead of time.) If you do not make your cut in time, you will get a strike and whoever made the nominations can make the cut and save. After 12 hours, any of the other rankers can post their cut & save. Make sure all your nominees are within the confines of the twists and the rules of the game. If this rule is broken, I'm afraid the round resets and you will have to completely renominate. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO EDITING ALLOWED ON YOUR POST WHEN YOU ARE CUTTING AND SAVING. IF YOU EDIT THAT POST FOR ANY REASON AT ALL, YOUR CUT AND SAVE IS NULL AND VOID! While I know that we as gay people have our own attachments and feelings to these contestants, I ask that everyone remain respectful to each other. Discussion is fine, being a dick is not. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please message me all applications by Thursday, January 18 (one week after the finale of Canada's Drag Race season 4). I will choose the rankers from there and the rankdown will commence shortly afterward. For convenience, you are more than welcome to keep the thread with your application as I will use that to communicate with you privately during the rankdown. Yep, and he had reached out first and we had discussed it happening since I’d done the others. Nothing was set up yet because, like I said, I was waiting on the Canadian season to finish. It is what it is, but I’m just saying it’s kind of a rude to start a new iteration of a rankdown that someone else runs without seeing what their plan was. I have listed the queens that will be included, but - in our first twist - the rankers will have the ability to include some international queens not currently represented! These will remain anonymous on my end, so it's up to y'all if you wanna choose to reveal them or not. Applications will close one week following the finale of Canada's Drag Race!
