I like singers who bring the emotions but Mara tended to over-emote or over-dramatize for my tastes, maybe? Look forward to seeing where she goes. I'm good with Alexa's grade. Beautiful song and she brought both the beauty and fragility to catch some lightning in a bottle. But what does she do as her encore? It's hard to get that kind of fit of artist and song and she'll have to show other things going forward. Hope she can! I liked Alexa's song choice way better than Mara's. I'm sure that had an impact. And I’d have thought that that was just because I was still pissed off that we lost Jaclyn Lovey and Livia Faith (both of whom I thought showed more promise and originality). But then Alexa went and murdered Elton John before our eyes — and, worse, before our ears — and I had a whole new reason to be iffy about her.
