Someone who sort of sailed to our final rankdown. She wasn't targeted a lot which sort of surprised me. She placed 6th place (robbed queen) during So You Think You Can Dance Canada season 2. If Tara-Jean or Jayme Rae couldn't be here (robbed, robbed, robbed!) I am glad Melanie can be. God that top 3 women of the top 6 was so iconic! I loved all 3 so I couldn't go wrong with whoever won. Melanie was a great dancer and someone who is underrated on IDF and by the Canada voters as she was in the bottom a lot sadly. I will probably be one of her highest rankings. Megan (7/20) On 6/3/2022 at 9:51 PM, totes4totes said: Melanie Mah Melanie Mah is great. Loved her on CA2. Love following her on IG. Also because she's doing Yoga she's on the Calm app's Youtube now. Get that meditation and anxiety money Mel!!!!! JC (8/20) Quote I am pretty surprised she made it here, but I really like her and perhaps she is one of those dancers that just no one hated enough or disliked enough to send home. Queen. Zoey (10/20) Quote I like Melanie but that’s about it. She had some good routines during her journey. Amanda (11/20) Quote Love Melanie! Definitely the star in her partnership with Cody, then continued to do great once the partners started changing. She’s at #11 though because so many of my favorites made the Top 20. Rei (11/20) On 6/11/2022 at 6:39 AM, .Rei said: Turning me on is my one of my favorite routines ever and Melanie is 50% of the reason of this masterpiece. While I prefer JR and Kim, there's no denying that she also slayed during CA2. Andrew (12/20) Quote While Melanie is like my fifth favourite from her season, I still love her and she’s Canadian, so if a girl has to win this rankdown, let it be her. Despite being saddled with Cody Bonnell from the get go, she shone in all their routines and even delivered a good hip-hop and krump. She also slayed her Paso Doble with Vincent Desjardins, proving her all-around versatility amongst a deep talent pool that included Kim, Jayme Rae, T*ra Jean, Vincent and Everett. Public (13/20) Quote Wallace (4/20) FrogLenzen (8/20) CA2 was absolutely stacked with talent, and Melanie was my favorite. I don’t think she had the strongest run ever, and was oftentimes weighed down by her partners. But when she slayed she slayed. Her Innocence solo is one of my favorites of all time. I think the rankers could have done a better job with more Canada representation in the finals but at least we have queen Melanie here. Sola (10/20) Gigi (10/20) Kriti (11/20) she was my third favourite (girl? no, contestant) of ca2, i still remember her hip-hops and her excellent solo to the postal service. Alex (11/20) I only found like two or three dances from her so I initially had her much lower, but that Paso Doble had me gay shrieking at the top of my lungs so I bumped her up. *Two days later* Okay now I found more routines from her and I'm bumping her up even more. She was getting down and dirty in some of those numbers! I love how she seems really sweet and shy in her rehearsal packages and then she gets on the dance floor and puts so much personality in her dances. Jimmy (18/20) Chris (20/20) She's certainly a talented dancer but I always thought she was a tad bit overrated and I kinda still feel that way. Elliott (15/20) Quote I've liked what I've seen of her, but I don't have a lot of attachment to her. [HOST NOTES: for some reason, Elliott thinks he was doing a write-up for Melanie Koster and not Melanie Mah lol]

*Wallace
Aww bummer, I was hoping for Melanie to show up higher. But 8th is still a great spot for her. But agreed with everything Diana said in her write-up. Since Tara-Jean and Jayme Rae couldn't be here, I'm glad that Melanie managed to make it through to the Final 20. *Wallace
Pretty solid Top 20s for both Canada and Australia, especially on Canada's side there, which looks really strong. Australia's could be a bit better but eh.

Overall that is a really solid Top 6 and I would almost have the same except in a different order... But when did IDF decide to go cold on Talia? Is she problematic in a way that I missed? Or was this general ho-ishness in the voting?
*Amanda
The Talia cut was very controversial IIRC. There was definitely a fight that went on for several pages afterwards. She definitely still has fans on here, myself included. She was a casualty of the general chaos and pettiness that ensue during these Rankdowns.

JC
I just realized Andrew lied about the Andrelliott Mark placements to get Jess into the top 20. Completely missed it because I’m traveling and have bad service. I’m not that surprised though. Glad Jess ended up last anyway now I’m pettily rooting for Miles to show up next even though I love him.

kritaaay
There were so many horrible placements this go around lol even though I started following only around the Top 100 mark. I think the price of taking out everyone's faves is this top 20 where no one really loves anyone but no one really hates anyone either Also considering the male/female ratio in the top 20 is about even maybe IDF doesn't actually only favor the women anymore?? I think there's even more men in the top 10 (I know Derek wants me to join next time I just .. am 100% sure I will flag off and forget about the game at some point and that worries me)
