50. Edgar Gilbert-Reyes (CA3)

Edgar Gilbert-Reyes was on So You Think You Can Dance Canada for Season 3. There were 22 dancers on that season. First he was paired with Bree Wasylenko for a Hip-Hop, and they had to dance for their lives. Then the same couple danced a Dancehall routine, and they have to dance for their lives and Bree went home. Then he was paired with Claudia for a Jazz and they had to dance for their lives. Then the same couple did a mambo and they were shockingly safe. Then he was paired with Danielle Gardner for a contemporary and they had to dance for their lives. Then he was paired with Charlene Hart for a Salsa and they had to dance for their lives. Finally, at Top 10 week, he was paired with Amanda Cleghorn and was eliminated because the judges no longer had any say in the eliminations. I think Comfort has the record for most solos performed, but I think Edgar has the record for most times a dancer was saved by the judges after DFYL.

At Top 10 week, he was partnered with Anneke Ghysens for a modern routine. He was inexplicably eliminated after the Top 10 episode, failing to make the Top 8. It is one of the more confusing results that Benelux has ever had. As part of the live shows, he danced 2 solos and 5 duets: Hip-Hip, Modern, Tango, Hip-Hop, and Modern.

Cycle 19: Final Cuts

Ldw11kJ.pngJKQQdUr.png9IgpIZb.pngCYRk04A.png

We have reached the final cycle. It’s time for the final cut before our Top 20 finale. As you know, the final cut is usually revealed in two parts: first, one dancer is announced safe and sent to the finale; second, the eliminated dancer is announced.

For this cycle, every ranker has the option to save one of the remaining Top 28 dancers and send them directly into the Top 20. However, before making your save, there is one final twist.

Maybe you hate a remaining dancer even more than you love your favorites. Every ranker has the option to NOT save a dancer into the Top 20. If you decide to not save a dancer, then you will be able to make your final cut before anyone makes any saves.

Please send me a message with your choice of either: (1) save and cut; or (2) cut only.

Once I have everyone’s choice, the final cycle will happen in three rounds, in order:

1. Everyone who chose to cut only will make their final cuts.

2. Everyone who chose to save will post their saves.

3. Everyone who made their save will then make their final cuts.

There will be strict time limits for how long you have to make your final cuts. Write-ups are required for the cuts to count.

If you do not send me a message with your choice of “save/cut” or “cut only” within 24 hours, then you will get no saves and you must be the first one to make a cut after everyone else does their saves.

If anyone cuts Mark (who has no chance of winning), then I will pull an Alex in The Challenge Rankdown and rank our mutual faves last in the final 20.
