Same. I didn't even watch much of S13 for some reason so getting a second chance at Jena and Alex would be cool. I was also a huge fan of both Hollie and Skylar in S11 so I'd add them to that list.

Also, I'm guessing you just went by "year of birth=1993 or later"? Because I've also got Katie Stevens (Season 9, 8th place) and Mackenzie Bourg (Season 15, 4th place) on my list--both of them born in late 1992, so they should still be eligible. (Katie for sure, since her birthday's in December. Mackenzie, it's an interesting one, because he does turn 29 a few days before the deadline for contestants on the young end to turn 15, but for some reason there's actually a good 3.5 months where it's fine if you're already 29.)

The fact that Jessica and La'Porsha could come back to compete is a joke to me

I’m pretty sure Jessica is signed to an an indie label of some kind.

I figured for smaller labels with less strict contracts, they could probably just part ways if they viewed getting back on Idol as a big enough opportunity.

The thing with so many of the past finalists is that VERY FEW of them were actually contenders to win.

Like, maybe two or three each season? The rest of the finalists always just felt like "also rans" that could serve as a spoiler or potentially a surprise runner-up. Many of them never screamed winner.

Lauren Alaina would be great if she did not already have a record deal and #1 songs lol I would love to see her comedy again she was one of a kind and brought a lot to Idol she just went up against a WGWG and a country singer all in 1 or she would have won lol.

It actually would be embarrassing for any alum who had already been voted off by the public to compete again, especially if they have been away from the show a few years.

It's saying they couldn't make a go of their career and have to come back to Idol in hopes of getting a record deal (again).

I think this is true for SOME seasons over others.

For instance, there were certain seasons, where the frontrunner was SO well-established and obvious that no one else even had a chance. I'm thinking of Season 12 where Candice was just killing it week after week. I wouldn't blame some Season 12 alumni who wanted to come back and give it another go.

But it still means your career flopped and you need to come back after being off the show 8 years.  Everyone had a chance when they competed.  It's not like Candice did anything that great after the show.

Nobody who made the top 10 of any show really should not come back. If they were going to make it they would have since. Could you see the pressure of lets say finishing 5th and comeback and finish 10th? that means you're worse then before and would look really stupid.

There's a few more you could take out for various reasons, too:

S9

Katie Stevens - From what I remember, having any sort of agent or manager makes you ineligible for Idol. I doubt she'd drop her acting career to do Idol again, anyway.

S11

Jessica - From what I remember, signed to an indie label

Skylar Laine - No longer does music.

Eben - Has sort of recording/publishing/idk contract. He actually opened for Daniel Seavey's band on their last tour.

Brielle - Not sure if she's officially ineligible, but she does a lot of stuff with PMJ and seems to be having success there.

S13

Briston - Signed to an independent label and I believe has a publishing deal

S14

Daniel Seavey - Part of Why Don't We, signed to major label

S15

La'Porsha - Isn't she signed to something?

Dalton - I don't think he does music anymore

S16

Caleb and Garrett both have publishing deals that could render them ineligible. Furthermore, I think Garrett is on an independent but he could be putting his stuff out indepedently

Eh. I dunno.

My theory there was based on how that episode went for the two of them (Sophia and Makayla), but yea, no one knows.

Thank you! I'm not the biggest expert on who's who. I wasn't sure if Why Don't We was with a major label or not so I just put him down. I know Skylar became a nurse or something but said in a interview she'd be open to singing again. Would make a good sob story. Think Dalton still teaches music in Texas and had a cryptic comment on how he "wasn't a service" a few years ago.
