The last from this album to fall. Lowkey, this track deserved Top 10 for the title alone. Genius. Like Western Wind, this is a huge departure from what we’re used to from her and it still totally works.

Andrew - 15/25

UGH. Now this is getting hard. This is one of my favourite tracks on the new album, but compared to some of her songs that I've been listening to for years, it just lands here. Ask me again in a few years and it might be much higher.

I suspect this song will also get done dirty but it's about sex for crying out loud!!!

Derek - 20/25

Boooo that this song is above so many others from this album but yaaaaaaay that this album had lots of representation.

Very solid, not surprised to see this in the Top 10. CRJ can throw down a chorus.

Andrew - 17/25

Of the Emotion Side B tracks, this is my least favourite. That's not to say I don't like it, I just like it less than Higher and Roses.

Some of these rankings are real head-scratchers lmao

Andrew - 22/25

Actually, this might be my least favourite song on Emotion, which I know is a sin to say but it's just too much of a buzzkill after RAWM and Emotion.

I suspect this song will get done dirty in this rank down but I've always loved it. It came at a time when I needed it's message of independence and it holds up for me.

Derek - 21/25

Quote

The video is really cute. I guess this is my inadvertent revenge for other rankings, lol I had no idea this song would get so close to the Top 5, whoops. This gets a little repetitive for me

The album cover shows Carly Rae Jepsen against a light blue background. She is photographed from the waist up, holding her left arm with the opposite hand, and is wearing a pink T-shirt. Across the middle of the cover, "Carly Rae Jepsen" is written in white cursive text. The letters of the word "kiss" appear in each corner clockwise in white, all-capital text.

This is my favorite song. I won't hear anything from my supposed so-called "FRIENDS" who wanted it to be eliminated before Top 25. I don't care if it wins. It can go against every other song and it could be overall winner and I'd be thrilled. I'm actually incredibly basic but as a 32-year-old woman that is my RIGHT.

Derek - 5/25

Quote

Yes it’s not cool to like this song and yes it’s her most mainstream and yes most people ONLY know this song from her and yes it is a bit simple/basic. But I’m going to say something controversial yet brave. This is a brilliant song. One of the best earworms of the decade. CRJ’s rise was not inevitable. It took this song to make her happen, and she earned it. And even though it’s not the most complex thing she ever did, it still perfectly represented her as an artist. Pop, cheeky, airy, fun, catchy, honest, charming, intimate. The production and melodies and harmonies are all perfection. This song will be in rotation representing pop for this era until the end of human history.

Andrew - 25/25

Something had to be ranked last and honestly, this will probably get plenty of high rankings. I give it credit for kickstarting her career and the music video is hilarious but she's made so much better music since that I can't rank it any higher than this. In my ideal world, it wouldn't have made the Top 25. It feels like a waste of a spot.

The one-two punch of RAWM and Emotion is absolutely killer. A title track that lives up to the strength of the rest of the album.

Probably my most played song outside of Emotion and for good reason. It's a bit of a sleeper jam but I always rock out to it when she plays it at her shows.

Derek - 9/25

Quote

This making 3rd place is such a wonderful pleasant surprise. I wasn’t sure it would have big support just being from this particular album which isn’t as iconic as the early stuff and didn’t bring in a bunch of new fans like TLT did. Happy to see Andrew loves this because it makes me feel correct about it haha

I'm reading through the list (up through to the Top 5) but I feel like all of these songs rankings are all over the place. :dead: The #6 song having a 11.90 average seems really wild (and high) to me. :dead: I feel like averages should be lower at this part. :haha:

Also "Call Me Maybe" making the Top 5 despite having two very low (possibly #25) rankings!

Lmaoo the "Call Me Maybe" rankings are so fun to see and just so all over the place. :dead: It's all really fascinating to see. But not surprised this has multiple #1s and multiple #25s. Agreed with a lot of Derek's comments there on this song.

Oooh I think I know both of these Top 2 songs (though not super familiar with RAWM). I'm rooting for "Cut to the Feeling" to win as I do really like that one.

Still only a 11.00 average for the #3 song. :dead: I'm curious to see the scores of the Top 2.
