Hopefully this long break will breathe some new life into the show and the quality will go back up. Iconic dances? at the end, one dancer will be chosen as America's favorite dancer. So technically it's a solo competition. But most of the competition is done in duets. The dancers are paired up and have to learn a new duet every week from scratch. World of Dance was all groups and mostly dances that were prepared ahead of time.
