I don't remember much from the first two seasons, so I'll skip them (though of course Vicci's Dog Days Are Over remains a classic all this time later)

 

Nicholas David - You Are So Beautiful (I am not a sappy person by any stretch of the imagination, but getting his wife there for the performance and dedicating this to her hit me right in my feelings in the best way.) 

The Swon Brothers - Danny's Song (They hit their stride and made it into the finale over others I preferred, but with how rock-solid this was it's hard to argue that America got it wrong.)

Will Champlin - At Last (Unexpected song choice for a male vocalist and it gave Will the breakout moment he needed at that point - James had his back in the playoffs and Tessanne wasn't leaving, and Team Adam being the only one still intact meant that without this, he could've been at risk for going home.)

Christina Grimmie - Hold On, We're Going Home (I get goosebumps years later from this.)

Chris Jamison - Georgia on My Mind (Winning the Instant Save was the swift kick to the rear he needed to step his game up in the live shows, and this was the performance that kept him on the show.)

Joshua Davis - Fields of Gold (It was between this and Budapest - but this fits so perfectly in his wheelhouse and was a great choice after he nearly got the boot the week prior.)

Barrett Baber - Colder Weather (I liked Barrett all the way up until the Ghost fiasco - which was still good, just way too much going on with the song beyond his vocals - but of the other stuff, this was probably my favorite. Angel Eyes was a close second, though.)

Hannah Huston - House of the Rising Sun (my favorite YouTube comment on this one is "I can't believe they aired an uncensored murder on national television" and it's not wrong.)

We McDonald - Don't Rain On My Parade (That was a helluva way to close the finale - after some shakier moments in the lives, she needed this.)

Aliyah Moulden - I Can Only Imagine (She managed to get past the two on Team Gwen that people thought could be finale locks with this one, and even though I prefer Davon's version from S13 over this I'm not gonna deny that this was really strong.)

Brooke Simpson - Faithfully (I have working ears. If she hadn't been in the same season as Chloe and Addison, she could've clinched a top two spot easily.)

Kyla Jade - You Don't Own Me (She brought the house down with this, and basically everything she did after this was a "one step closer to the finale" performance. Let It Be was also incredible but that's a 9.75/10 and You Don't Own Me is a 10/10 in my book.)

Kirk Jay - In Case You Didn't Know (The last performance Kirk did that I liked on the show, oops.)

Dexter Roberts - Like a Cowboy (That rich, smooth baritone that feels exactly like the country music I grew up on - 96% of America apparently turned for this man via the app vote, and I can see why. Of this finale lineup I would've preferred him in the runner-up slot over Gyth, but he made the finale so I can't complain too much.)

Katie Kadan - Always Remember Us This Way (Will was pretty high-energy right before this, and she was the only act that could've followed and made it work - naturally, because she's Katie, she killed this, and it was a perfect way to end the night.)
