Per the article, his campaign expects to raise $200 million for this cycle, and will need less than half of that. Sounds like he may be able to roll that over into a Presidential campaign.

The above post by @TeamAudra includes a link to Politico's Florida Playbook. I'm posting the link to it and their California Playbook for future reference. The newsletters provide information about what's happening in the two states.

https://www.politico.com/californiaplaybook

https://www.politico.com/floridaplaybook

from the Florida Playbook:

So, a Democratic politician finally took to Florida’s airwaves to challenge Gov. Ron DeSantis head-on — only it wasn’t Nikki Fried or Charlie Crist. It was California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

The DeSantis campaign — which normally doesn’t weigh in on this type of activity — did respond. Campaign spokesman Dave Abrams told CNN that “Gavin Newsom might as well light a pile of cash on fire” and said that Californians are fleeing “the hellhole he created in his state to come to Florida.”

The amount spent on the ad wasn’t enormous, but obviously Newsom’s decision to troll DeSantis in his home state earned the California Democrat a tremendous amount of media attention — including on Florida television stations — over the long holiday weekend. And yes, maybe it was a warning shot in a potential 2024 presidential matchup.

from the California Playbook:

Newson's cameo on Floridians' July 4 Fox airwaves followed a simple political calculus. For the price of a fleeting TV buy that cost a fraction of his campaign warchest, the Democratic governor commanded national media coverage and stoked another round of feverish speculation about his presidential ambitions. In a way, the message was beside the point. The attention and the reaction drowned it out.

We’ve covered before the reasons to believe Newsom’s insistence that he has “subzero interest” in seeking the White House in 2024. Principally that he’s no dummy. The governor and his team understand Newsom’s potential path is narrow given that it would mean running through fellow Californian and Vice President Kamala Harris (should President Joe Biden choose not to seek another term). But Newsom needn’t be seeking the presidency to see the benefits of some national profile-elevation. It’s what he’s always done. And with a likely cruise to a second term freeing him up politically, what’s the downside?

A letter to President Biden dated September 29, 2021 from National School Boards Association began: "America's public schools and its education leaders are under an immediate threat." It went on to state: "As these acts of malice, violence, and threats against public school officials have increased, the classification of these heinous actions could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes. As such, NSBA requests a joint expedited review by the U.S. Departments of Justice, Education, and Homeland Security, along with the appropriate training, coordination, investigations, and enforcement mechanisms from the FBI, including any technical assistance necessary from, and state and local coordination with, its National Security Branch and Counterterrorism Division, as well as any other federal agency with relevant jurisdictional authority and oversight." The letter was signed by Chip Slaven and Dr. Viola M. Garcia.

On October 1, Julia Treanor of the School Safety Task Force, Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency within the Department of Homeland Security requested a meeting with NSBA staff.

Attorney General Merrick Garland issued the following memorandum on October 4, directing federal agencies—including FBI—to act on the letter from Slaven and Garcia.

President Biden personally called Dr. Garcia on October 6 regarding the NSBA letter. According to Garcia, President Biden thanked her for the letter and extended an invitation to visit the Oval Office during the fifteen-minute one-on-one phone call.

October 19 article:

Rational 360, a crisis management firm retained by NSBA, apparently presented an apology to NSBA Board of Directors on October 21. The board released a memorandum to NSBA members on October 22, against Slaven's "strong objections," that included this statement: "On behalf of NSBA, we regret and apologize for the letter. To be clear, the safety of school board members, other public school officials and educators, and students is our top priority, and there remains important work to be done on this issue. However, there was no justification for some of the language included in the letter." The memo added: "We are engaged in a formal review of our processes and procedures."

Congress became involved.

Representatives and senators submitted similar letters to AG Garland on October 7 expressing concern and requesting information related to his memorandum in response to NSBA's letter.

Senate Committee on the Judiciary wrote in a December 6 follow-up: "By now involving the FBI's Counterterrorism Division in this effort, even if you personally believe that division would never cross a line into silencing criticism of local governments, you have given life to the idea that dissidents are synonymous with terrorists. This is a common tactic of third-world dictatorships, but it should never be FBI practice. Parents and other citizens who get impassioned at school-board meetings are not domestic terrorists. You may believe that, but too many people involved in this issue seem to think harsh words can be criminalized."

In February 2022, NSBA retained an attorney to conduct an "independent review" of the 2021 letter. The organization announced findings and resulting policy changes on May 20.

I’m not sure what for posted in the last page, but whatever it is…it’s so much data that it won’t load in my phone. Actually, it literally blows up my phone to the point where I can’t even get back into IDF without opening a new window in my browser. So…until this thread flips to a new page, I guess I’ll be taking a break. 😂

A new survey conducted on June 30 by Rasmussen Reports found 59% don't want Biden to run for a second term, while 54% don't want Trump to run in 2024.

I hate this country. And yes, I am planning on leaving in the next 10 years

I love this country, but I agree that mass shootings are horrific and Aiden's story is tragic. Thankfully his mother's parents will care for the orphan, and generous people helped by donating $2,956,360 thus far to a GoFundMe account with a $500,000 goal for the toddler and his family.
