Some of these people I'm fans of but had no idea that they were on the show. TeamAudra Posted May 22 Share Posted May 22 There are a lot of stories like that. Maren Morris auditioned numerous times for both The Voice and AI. Granted, she’s not exactly a top notch vocalist. Luke Combs made it through several of the producer rounds on TV, and got cut right before blind auditions. His rejection letter said they didn’t feel like he was interesting enough for the audience. I doubt any juicy gossip will get spilled, since American Idol is one of CMA Fest’s sponsors. Likely just them talking about the Idol experience, how it’s benefitted their careers post-show, and Chayce/Colin/Huntergirl will give advice to Jack and Will for CMA Fests since they’ve done them in prior years. Though prior to the finale, it was listed as “with the top two from the current season” so clearly something happened that Jack is there instead of Abi. And for anyone who didn’t know, anyone who made the Top 50 during that era of Idol was ineligible to reaudition until they changed it (many) seasons later. S16 - Gabby & Michael on Friday, Caleb & Cade on Saturday, Maddie on Sunday S17 - Laine & Bobby Bones S18/S19 - n/a, no CMA Fest those two years S20 - Noah & Huntergirl; both also performed a duet with Chayce during his show S21 - Iam, Megan, Colin, Wé, Haven for the M&G; Colin did a separate event with Noah and also performed with him S22 - Jack and Will [so far] S16 and S17 were when they had the Idol tent outside, but the others have been inside Fan Fair. Yeah I do think they are likely to add more people they probably just haven't done it yet.
