totes4totes Posted March 3 Share Posted March 3 Mario Not me doing FOUR extra write-ups in the DWTS rankdown when theoretically I could be doing zero. Unfortunately for Mario he gets the axe here because I am the one getting to make the final saves and also because he's not even Karina's best DWTS partner named "Mario"! I'm convinced the producers were like "Well it worked really well once! Let's just do it again!" Anyway, they were on season 6 together and placed 5th. He was perfectly fine but that's the season of Kristi Yamaguchi. Who remembers anything Mario did when you have one of the greatest contestants of all time. That is also a bit of a reflection of Mario's career. The 2000s were a great decade for R&B and Mario debuted young. Here are some albums from male R&B artists that came out like between 2000-2008 (his DWTS appearance) that Mario would have been competing with: 8701 by Usher Confessions by Usher Voodoo by D'Angelo Get Lifted by John Legend Aijuswanaseing by Musiq Soulchild In My Own Words by Ne-Yo This is also leaving out his own CHILD competition with the likes of Bow Wow and Romeo. Mario may have hit like one high high with "Let Me Love You" but he's faded away since. He was left this round so hopefully nobody was waiting for me to do the Mario save. And when I think of Top 100 DWTS contestants ever - well first I don't know off the top of my head I could think of ONE HUNDRED without a lot of work and some pen and paper - I don't think of Ricki Lake. I know she was paired with the always annoyingly excellent Derek and I know she made 3rd place in Season 13. But with 32 seasons we are approaching the point where even if we take the Top 3 of every season we are barely making it under the 100 mark. I will say Season 13 was tight, but I can't be mad that Karina got her first and only win with JR. Ricki Lake is somebody who I wish would just talk about Hairspray and working with John Waters for the rest of her life. Not that she's like extremely annoying or problematic but I just think she's taking her stance on natural birth and natural birth control maybe a bit too far. She's a little...crunchier...than I would ever be. And I don't think that in a post-Roe world you should be telling women to drop their birth control unless they are going to be very serious about the condom+pull out+rhythm method (or copper IUDs). totes4totes Posted March 3 Share Posted March 3 Sailor Brinkley Cook You could sit me down and go Megan here's the list of highlights of Sailor Brinkley Cook's career and then quiz me on them immediately after and I'd fail the quiz just like I failed every Calc 3 quiz I took my freshman year of college because I'm not putting any effort in to pointless things (don't worry I passed Calc 3 with flying colors because I set the curve for every exam LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOOOL). Sailor Brinkley Cook was on a recent season! That I watched! Paired with a pro that I like! The above screenshot means nothing to me though. It's like as soon as Sailor appeared everything she did was punted out of my head the second she left the screen. I could be given 10 hours to name as many DWTS contestants I could and I'd probably start naming "celebrities" who have never been on the show but give off the vibes of somebody who would be on DWTS before I came up with Sailor Brinkley Cook. And you can't just call her Sailor. She needs the full name because people KNOW Christie Brinkley (the rumor was she was supposed to be on and had to drop out and Sailor took her place? And this was all intentional right???? What a mom. I hope when my non-famous normal mom gets recruited to DWTS she drops out and then the show is forced to pick up me and pair me with Jenna Johnson). Generously. Sailor Brinkley Cook is a "model." And I mean that generously because she's done nothing. Honestly, living the dream. And I don't care if the season was 2 weeks long and had four celebs. A W is a W. I'm gonna be real. Mario Lopez is ONLY getting saved because he looks like this and I love Karina. Karina deserves the respect and admiration that the show gives Derek. She should have gotten ringer after ringer until she had 7 wins under her belt and when she retired from being a pro she should have taken Carrie Ann's seat at the judges table and replaced Len when he retired. Gavin was on Season 14 of DWTS and came in 9th place after being eliminated 4th. Conservatively, the man is a bad dancer. Which isn't a surprise. He has ONE song and it's not a dance song. It's a song that exemplifies all the teenage angst of the 2000s CW. When I think Gavin DeGraw I think of Chad Michael Murray dribbling a basketball across a bridge as he angsts over his best friend Haley marrying his estranged hotter cooler more talented brother Nathan at the age of 16 so she could be married before losing her virginity and Haley's parents Jimmy James and mom James just approving of that. When it's your turn to nominate, you will nominate just 7 contestants. The other 6 rankers will each save one contestant, leaving only one left. That contestant will be eliminated and the nominator will be responsible for the writeup. That's it. No twists, no advantages, no more buybacks.
