The Gwen hate train has started again, y’all haven’t even seen Chechi performance yet. Like Someone648 said, her performance probably wasn’t the best.

Oh, possibly.  That's the only thing that would make this okay for me.

This is only her 2nd season since Carter won, Kique deserved his spot in the lives season 22.

if you really think about it, Gwen has taken a teen far almost every season

Season 7: Bryana Salaz - Playoffs - Only big exception

Season 9: Braiden Sunshine - Semifinals

Season 12: Brennley Brown - Semifinals

Season 17: Joana Martinez - Top 10?

Season 19: Carter Rubin - Winner

Season 22: Kique - Top 10

That is true though. Tanner is really good too, I am excited to see him grow and flourish on the show honestly.

3 out of 6 are boys, someone said that she was attached to her teenage boys. I’m confused about that part

not saying you’re making this argument but i fee like all of these contestants were vocally competent? and more importantly, all gwen did was bring them to the playoffs / top 13; the audience did the rest of the work.

fwiw, brennley, bryana, kique, joana, and carter were all very strong vocalists? and frankly i would say braiden was too at his best so not sure why it’s such a surprise that these people went far

but also i’m not trying to start an argument feel free to hate gwen or these contestants lol just trying to share how i see it 😭

I don't think this clip was posted yesterday.

one Reba comment from the 09/20 article below: "The ones that have more try than talent will be the ones that can be on the radio, but that's what it takes," she said. "A lot of people have talent, but do they want to do what we've had to do for so many years to get where we are. It's that try that sometimes outdoes the talent."

Reba also said she was "thrilled" with the first contestant that joined her team.

reba seems reallt cool and i don’t know much abt her ascent to success so please feel free to educate me but i feel like her success story was likely very different than a lot of these contestants’ experiences? not only did she become famous in an entirely different era, more importantly, she said both her father and grandfather already performed at the opry (?) so she likely grew up growing connections in the industry.

for someone with few connections growing up, i imagine it’s a lot tougher. no family connections to expedite the process

but yeah if this is wrong lemme know and no hate to Reba of course she seems cool
