The point is, even though Seven completely ruined the show with awful format and limited post-show promotion, it actually brought good ratings. I remember Seven enjoyed major success while acquiring the show back in 2021, the rating were surprisingly high. And with Australian Idol having poor review we can expect that the show is going to be renewed for a lot of (the same) seasons in the near future.
