Qorey Posted April 29, 2023 Author Share Posted April 29, 2023 Let's say everyone saved the same number of houseguests (15 each). Pick out your 15 favorites. Now imagine you go first. You'll get to save those 15 houseguests and no more, leaving your 16th favorite vulnerable to landing at the bottom. Now imagine you go last. Almost all of those 15 will already be saved by other rankers, and you get to pick 15 out of the 40 houseguests that are left at the end. In this scenario, there is a huge advantage to going last. In the current version of this rankdown, here's how it works: If the first ranker saves 30 houseguests, and that's 10% of the total, it will also be 10% (on average) of the houseguests that would've been saved by the second ranker, if they had gone first. As a result, the second ranker's saves are reduced by that amount. So, the second ranker saves 27 houseguests, and then 57 houseguests have been saved, which is a certain percentage of the total, and so the third ranker's number of houseguests will be reduced by that percentage, and so on. I am very careful to make sure the rankdown is as fair as possible.
