She should have beaten Frederic, Vivian and Denden, but we know how wrong the NL audience usually votes is and except for the first two seasons, they love to give the title to the worst dancer of the Top 4. Kalila had quite the journey with a pletora of great dancers along the way. Ayo technology, Bring me to life, Good god and Show me how you burlesque were the four routines she did with Delano and easily put them as the best couple of that season. Kalila also slayed from top 10 onwards, dancing two Hip Hops with Denden, one Hip hop with Arno, cha cha and modern with Delano, a jazz with Vivian and another hip hop with Frederic. Her most iconic moments were definitely her hip hop with Delano and her first one with Denden, which are probably my two favorite routines of the season. Ayo Technology was just a BAM from Kalila and quickly put her at the top of the competition. As we all know she finished at 3rd place but at least we got to enjoy a full season of Kalila slaying the competition. Kalila was super robbed the last rankdown and didn't make the Top 20 but I'm glad we were able to make it right this time around. Rank Kalila high people, ammend all the mistakes you did during this rankdown. Amanda (7/20) Quote Love her! She was so amazing on Benelux 5. I was worried she’d get robbed of the Top 20 again, so very happy she wasn’t. Diana (8/20) Quote was Kalila ever nominated? I don't remember she sailed to our final rank-down and deservedly so. Someone who I don't know is anyone's number one favorite but also not a huge threat for that reason? I am interested to see where she lands with the other rankers. Derek (7/20) Kalila’s first routine started the season with a BANG and made me a fan instantly. She is up there with the best hip-hop girls to ever come through the franchise. Lise’s journey was more iconic and she was more versatile, but I think Kalila beats her in the genre. Gigi (8/20) Wallace (12/20) Jimmy (13/20) Sola (14/20) Chris (14/20) An incredible HH dancer who is able to excel in other genres. Alex (18/20) I've watched more SYTYCD this week than any human being should so maybe I got a little tired by the end idk. She was certainly great and I've got no complaints, but I was never wow'd by her. She danced like five hip-hop routines and I'm like great...you can do your style really well. On the other hand she only danced like two ballroom dances and she wasn't bad, but it was probably for the best that she didn't get any more lmao. Elliott (13/20) Quote lol I actually liked that entire Top 4, so I don't get involved in the fanwars. I think Kalila was my least favourite, but that was to be expected partnered against a twinky hip-hopper, a hot B-boy and the girl who did my favourite routine of the season. I'm not sure how well she'll rank, but glad to see her here. JC (14/20) Quote I do not think I actually watched her season but she is gorgeous and I have a crush. Even though I am gay. I am sure she is fab but I can not justify ranking her above everyone else who I love. Zoey (14/20) Quote Kalila is this low solely for dancing the least exotic, exotic broadway. The f*ck even is that? Someone please tell this girl what exotic means because she looked completely bored. Maybe she was watching a Kate routine when she performed this? I don’t know. She was partnered with Delano for most of the season and I think he was the better half of that partnership. He was great during most routines and I think she looked messy or bored half of the time. Probably one of the few dancers who struggles to portray emotion through dance that I’ve seen on the show. God did she struggle when it came to selling something. Poor Delano. Andrew (17/20) Quote I actually do really like Kalila which is why I didn’t really target her until the end of the rankdown. NL5 is one of my favourite seasons because I really loved everyone in the Top 4. Kalila’s partnership with Delano was definitely a highpoint of the season, but her routines with Denden and Frederic were also some of my favourites. I know it happens often on the NL show, but it was nice to see a female hip-hopper do so well on the show and get to dance with male hip-hoppers. I had expected her to place 4th, but wasn’t surprised that she managed to sneak into third since her finale routines were really strong. I’m ranking her here because, as with some of the other international contestants, I don’t have as strong a connection to her, but she’s great and her making the Top 20 doesn’t come as a surprise to me.
