Chris & Karen - Viennese Waltz: 7/7/6/6 = 26

Nice Viennese Waltz from Chris. It had a happier feel to it which worked for him. Some parts were kinda rocky and not as smooth as it could/should have been and some mistakes in there. It did seem like one of those dances that lost it a bit here and there and lost finesse as it gradually went on. Still he’s showing slight improvement in ballroom and it was decent from him.

SHOCKED Craig gave a 7 and Bruno & Shirley gave 6s. But again those are fair scores.

Karim & Amy 4th with the Argentine Tango.

Karim & Amy - Argentine Tango: 8/10/9/9 = 36

Interesting @ Vincent giving Karim the hardest AT ever on Strictly. :o That was a passionate AT from Karim. He brought great intensity to the dance and was really strong and on point on a technical level with his footwork and partnering. It was a very difficult routine and some parts he didn’t quite execute as flawlessly - but agree with Bruno the last section of gauchos were amazing! Still a strong dance from him.

Ugh Craig would have a million complaints, but not surprised.

OK at least Craig gave an 8. I would have popped up if he gave a 7.

Motsi making up for Craig’s underscoring there. Agree with the 9s and 36 overall. Definitely expecting an amazing American Smooth from him.

Emma & Anton Waltz up 5th.

Emma & Anton - Waltz: 8/9/9/10 = 36

Ooh that was a really classy, stunning Waltz from Emma. She floated through the dance and it had a very dreamy flowy quality to it. Nice frame and footwork from her. Ooh yikes Craig spotted a lot of mistakes from Emma technically. :fear: Didn’t notice that much but still a flowy dance.

Oops I did expect her to get more 10s pre-dance but oops. :ph34rwave: Still a really good and fair score. But oh she got a 10 from Bruno. :o

welp i thought he was doing in AS which is expect a 40 for.

but I worry that he'll be in the bottom :(

Ugh yeah I worry this too. :( Hopefully Kelvin won't be there because Karim could easily beat Emma or Chris in a DO.

Kelvin & Oti - Paso Doble: 9/10/9/9 = 37

This judges intro video is funny because the judges can’t find anything wrong regarding Kelvin’s dancing. :giggle: Well except Craig of course. But SOO looking forward to this Paso!. Ugh I got distracted during it…. BUT what I did see was an absolutely amazing and strong Paso from Kelvin. Such a fiery intense and aggressive Paso - with great Paso artisty and shaping

Hmm shocked that Bruno didn’t OMGAW Love that Paso though. Hmm I seee these criticisms although didn’t really see these issues they are pointing out… but I will look out for it on rewatch. Although wow Craig had so many critiques and then ends off with “Impressive!” But eh I thought he killed that! :haha:

Definitely wasn’t expecting Kelvin to score higher with the Quickstep over the Paso, but hey I like unpredictable things sometimes. :haha: 37 is still really great - but should have gotten another 10, so yayy Motsi coming through! :*

Chris & Karen Rumba up..... worried for Chris with this one. :shiver: But LMAO watch him surprise and this somehow be better than his VW. :haha:

Chris & Karen - Rumba: 4/8/8/8 = 28

Sooo interested in seeing Chris doing a Rumba because i could never picture it at all. But oh on the positives, I will say it was nice seeing this emotional vulnerable side of Chris which I believe is the first time we saw that. I couldn’t Early series Chris performing that. As for the technical dancing and everything else….. eeks, it wasn’t too good. There was no hip action and definite lacking body action. It was more or less what I was expecting from him here. :( Karen really shone and was so beautiful in that though.

Oooh 8s? Hmmmm interesting wasn’t expecting that. Craig’s 4 was harsh but the 8s were too high. Would have gone in the middle with 6s.

Karim & Amy American Smooth closing! :w00t:

Karim & Amy - American Smooth: 9/10/9/10 = 38

That was an amazing and charming American Smooth from Karim. He had fantastic footwork and was great in frame and that ballroom hold. It was really smooth and seamless…. and he performed that extremely well.

I was expecting this to be his stronger dance and it was so yayy! UGH shame abut the lifts that Shirley & Craig commented on. :( I can get what they’re saying but the lifts didn’t bother or take me out of the dance at all. Gah if it were a Foxtrot or an AS without lifts, I bet this could have been a effect 40. Still amazing dance.

I was expecting that 38 based on those comments soo not too mad. Do wish he could have gotten a 39 or 40. :(

Overall Points

Kelvin & Oti - 77

Karim & Amy - 74

Emma & Anton - 67

Chris & Karen - 54

Gonna figure out rankings in a bit.

Kelvin's quickstep was the dance of the season!!!!!!!!

Definitely the dance that took me by surprise. Wasn't expecting it to be THAT amazing. :omg:

Rankings were quite easy to figure out this episode. :haha:

1. Kelvin & Oti - Quickstep

2. Karim & Amy - American Smooth

3. Kelvin & Oti - Paso Doble

4. Karim & Amy - Argentine Tango

5. Emma & Anton - Waltz

6. Emma & Anton - Cha-Cha

7. Chris & Karen - Viennese Waltz

8. Chris & Karen - Rumba

Loved 1-3, really enjoyed 4-6, liked 7 and liked parts of 8

Like Diana said, definitely still worried for Karim, as he’s 2nd on the leaderboard. And with him being the ringer of the season, not sure if being 2nd can keep him out of the Bottom 2 like being first. :( I only see Kelvin being totally safe, but hope his fans won’t be complacent either. I can see any of Karim/Emma/Chris being in danger - but would be fine with Emma or Chris going.

Chris is so fun but it’s time for him to go. His lack of Rumba technique actually distracted me from the supposedly emotional performance that the judges raved. I think he’s definitely gone if he’s in the dance-off, now that there’s two dances to choose from to perform in the dance-off.

Spoiler: Chris & Karen vs. Karim & Amy in the dance-off. Chris & Karen are out.

Thank goodness at that elimination.

Sad that Karim landed in the bottom again. Looks like Kelvin is our only hope to get a great winner, because it’s clear Karim doesn’t have the votes.

This is the first series since series 5 to not have a female star get a 40. Sad.

To be fair, none of this season's female celebs deserved a perfect score. I think this is the first season where the male celebs were on a whole different level. Last season we had Faye and Ashley but this season I don't think any of the ladies were good at all.

Really hope Kelvin takes it but I have a feeling Emma will. She's been safe throughout the whole season and it would be neat to have Anton win, I guess.

Congrats to Natalie and her husband! She was just on It Takes Two on Tuesday and barely looked pregnant at all, she was up and teaching Rylan some Foxtrot.

I think we're about to see a slew of Strictly babies, Rachel & Pasha said their baby was due in December and Ola and James Jordan are expecting as well after a long infertility battle.

LMAO YESS I forgot to mention that. :dead: I saw her on Monday's ITT and she barely looked pregnant there and she was due in 11 days or so, but the baby came early like 5 days after that episode. :haha:

I wonder when Ola/James' baby are due. Because it seems like we could have four Strictly babies within a year (including Gemma & Gorka's from July).

My thoughts:

Emma & Anton Cha-Cha - Their best attempt at a Latin dance, but still a pretty weak dance. I really wish she had a different pro because her Latin could've been better if she did.

Kelvin & Oti Quickstep - FLAWLESS. Like Diana said earlier in the thread, dance of the season. So fantastic and so, so deserving of the perfect 40 it got. :w00t: And to think he wasn't even initially cast on this season.

Chris & Karen Viennese Waltz - Automatically not the worst "Somebody to Love" VW by virtue of not being danced by S**n. Still not too impressive though. At least they scored him realistically for this. For a great VW to this song, I'll direct you to Queen Mel B.

Karim & Amy Argentine Tango - A really great job! I'm just happy we got a good Argentine Tango from one of these shows after DWTS dropped the ball with that this season. Craig with the 8, though. :)

Emma & Anton Waltz - Gorgeous! As expected, they nailed this. Anton really knows how to choreograph good Ballroom routines.

Kelvin & Oti Paso Doble - We all knew that Paso would suit Kelvin well, and he didn't disappoint. This was fantastic. This deserved all 10's TBH. Thank you for coming through with the 10 Motsi.

Chris & Karen Rumba - WHY ARE WE GIVING THIS 8'S, JUDGES? Literally. There was zero Rumba technique to be found on Chris' end of things while Karen did as much as possible to hide his shortcomings...which apparently worked since they got 8's for this. At least Craig realized that 8's are nonsensical scoring and gave him a 4 which is more accurate. Thank you Craig. I'm confused how this scored higher than his VW, which is better LOL.

Karim & Amy American Smooth- This was such a cute and enjoyable routine. It's hard to top their flawless Jive from last week, but they still did a fantastic job here.

Just watched the last results show sooo…..

Results show Thoughts:

- Really loved the opening group routine that was a mix of Paso and Ballet. The ballet dancer and Katya were really great in that! Ooh Carlos Acosta is his name.

eryYeVDvlNs

- Really cool performance of Niall Horan’s “Nice to Meet Ya.” Really like that song. Also great dancing from Katya & Gorka in it too.And wow Katya got spotlighted in two dances this episode. :o

- The Bottom 2 was Karim & Amy vs. Chris & Karen. LMAOO Chris’ “But against Karim, shall we just call it a night and just go home.” :dead: Clearly Chris knew his time was up and his time to go, but he’s a great likable guy with a fun personality and lmao love how he was able to poke at himself there with a positive attitude. Of course it was a unanimous vote to save Karim and Chris left. Very glad Karim made it into the final! And yeah Chris has done extremely well to get this far despite not being technically great and having the public on his side - but he did showcase improvement and had some really enjoyable dances. I would say he’s amongst my favorite comedian type celebs on this show. And actually really loved his partnership with Karen as they were so fun and great together… they were such a joy to watch. Loved their final words to each other too.
