This is why pitch is not something I really value as much as tonal quality and clarity. You gotta sound pleasant to my ears first so I'd actually pay attention to your singing. Could care less about you being 100% technically perfect.

Anyway, I'm just rewatching Maddi's Top 12 performance (which honestly is not as bad as some people are making it out to be), and I noticed that she was actually tearing up during the coaches' comments. I think moments like that will go a long way towards endearing Maddi to the audience, and since she's gonna need all the help she can get next week, I think she needs to turn up the waterworks. I know it's really cynical and manipulative, but that's the game we're playing.

All solid choices. I like Unchained Melody as an off-the-wall song choice that allows her to just focus on her voice. This is more of a Finale choice, but I think this fits well in the kind of rhythmic pop lane that Maddi is trying to go for during her Blind.

Asher HaVon I think because Chance has the highest probability of getting wiped up next week, TPTB will help him out by pimping one or maybe even both of his girls. It's probably gonna be Serenity, but if her Top 12 performance is any indication, it might not be enough. Maddi is much more resilient in terms of weathering the live show craziness, so I'm ranking her ahead of the teen for now. I think Karen is not much of a lock as y'all are making it out to be. I think if the pimping for Chance works, Karen could easily miss out on the fifth Finale spot. Josh is clearly gonna get the majority of the love from the country voting bloc anyway. Again, I truly believe the one-vote-per-email rule has stymied the power of country artists on this show. My Top 3 are absolute finale locks IMO, they are the only ones who have shown a clear and consistent artistic identity and are playing to their strengths. It's a fight between Asher and Nathan for S25 winner.

It would be nice if she can get past next week needing to perform only once, but I guess we have to be realistic. An additional performance can be nice though. Especially if it's on the level of Stay.

LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Welcome to the Top 9 Maddi! Honestly, aside from being a little too caught up towards the end of her performance, I think Maddi nailed her Billie performance. It's a tall order defying Bandzilla, and she did it better than most. And I'm glad America saw that and rewarded her for it! I will say though, Chance needs to get his act together and get Maddi back to the level of her PO performance. Just do ballads from here on out. We all know Maddi can do upbeat pop, no need to prove it anymore. Let's be strategic. See y'all next week! Let's bring it home!

I still think Maddi is Chance's strongest shot at the Finale and people are overestimating Serenity's chances just because she's a teen girl. She's no Hailey/Chevel/Brynn. Unless they outright pimp Serenity on Monday (which is a possibility since she hasn't closed an episode yet and it would be the perfect time to do it), I think Maddi will outlast her.
