1. Finding Nemo
I LOVE FINDING NEMO. It is my favorite Disney movie of all time outside of like Tanged and Coco which did not make this final list. I LOVE IT. Do I love Finding Dory? Yes for what it is but the original was far superior. This movie is very special to me as a parent because I get a new perspective from it. Marlin the dad of Nemo is like me with my kids. I have learned the hard way you have to give them freedom but it is so hard to let them do it. The end of the movie is so great because it describes the life of a parent. Ok I don’t think this movie is winning but I wanted to rank it higher as I feel like people are tanking it.

WALLACE
Finding Nemo (2003)
I was really sad to see Finding Dory get eliminated in the game although I knew that film was going to be a target but I am super glad Finding Nemo made the finals. I am ranking Finding Nemo at #4. I remember first watching this movie in my french class and I loved it there. I can’t remember if I actually saw it in English, i want to say that I have? But regardless I love the film and it’s a modern day classic. Finding Nemo was released on May 2003 and grossed $867.8 million in the box office. It also won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature at the 76th Academy Awards in 2004.

Finding Nemo tells the adventure and story of a clownfish Marlin and regal blue tang fish named Dory, who notices that Nemo got lost and they search their hardest and do everything to find Marlin’s son, Nemo, through the Sydney Harbour. Marlin learns a lesson of how Nemo is learning to take care of himself, although he is understandably concerned and wants him back with him - which eventually does happen.

Here’s a trailer of the film.

07. Finding Nemo (2003)
The top seven are all extremely close for me to rank, but at the end of it all, I'm putting Finding Nemo here. As with all Pixar films, the animation is absolutely exquisite, and I really loved the film's storyline of a father learning to let go. The characterization of everyone from the main duo (Marlin & Dory) to the characters that are only in one scene is great, and I think it's a major reason why this film has continued to be lauded as one of Pixar's finest. (Also I don't know if it was just me, but did anyone else forget how LONG this movie is? When I looked it up to make sure I wasn't forgetting anything, I didn't realize it was over 100 minutes long.)

PUBLIC

Alex
Finding Nemo - Unpop opinion but I think Dory’s one of the most overrated characters is Disney history. So while I don’t love her, I love the rest of the movie so much! Marlin is dour in the best possible way because it juxtaposes the other characters personalities so well. Bruce & his shark friends and Crush & his turtle friends are all icons who save what could’ve been a meh storyline thanks to Marlin and Dory. The real reason I’m obsessed with the movie though is because of the fishtank characters at the dentist's office. I’m literally obsessed with every single one of them and would fight to the death for all of them in a hypothetical Disney character ranking. Especially Kween Flo and Kween Darla.

I remember going to see Finding Nemo in theaters with my dad as a kid and I think it may have even been for Father's Day, as it came out a couple weeks beforehand. <3 I loved the movie from the start and always enjoy it when I see it again. Of course there is the sequel Finding Dory, which I also like a lot, but am sure I prefer the original. Nemo is so cute! Dory was definitely a breakout star though and makes sense that they'd revolve a movie around her, even though she had a huge role in this first one too. She has so many amazing lines that really crack me up and I'll get to some of those. :haha:

Finding Nemo tells the story of clownfish Marlin, who sets out on an ocean journey to find his son, Nemo, after he is captured by a scuba diver. I first have to mention how it makes me so sad that Nemo's mom and all his siblings (as eggs) were killed at the start of the movie. Marlin and his wife discussed names for their babies and she wanted one to be called Nemo, while Marlin wanted them named after him. Only one baby fish survived and was, of course, named Nemo... does that not get to your heart? :bye2: Marlin is an overprotective parent and very unwilling to let Nemo do much of anything. The way Nemo rebels at the beginning of the movie by touching "the butt" always cracks me up. :haha:

IPB Image

Nemo does ultimately end up lost, and Marlin meets a lot of other creatures along the way to rescue him, including sharks, sea turtles, a whale, some seagulls, and obviously, the blue tang named Dory. :teehee: She suffers short-term memory loss and the way she CONSTANTLY forgets who Marlin is and where they're going cracks me up so much. Every time he tells the story again to someone else, she acts so shocked like she can't believe it. :dead: AND all the various names she calls Nemo because she never remembers his name. Even when he just told her! "He's lost his son, Fabio." :dead: And another one of my favorite quotes - "I'm miles from home with a fish that can't even remember her own name." "Oh, I bet that's frustrating." LOL. The one thing Dory does remember is of course the address on the diver's mask, which is P. Sherman 42 Wallaby Way Sydney. I'm sure a lot of us remember that too. :haha:

Besides Dory, the sea turtles, Crush and especially his baby son, Squirt, are my favorites. Squirt is my favorite in the whole movie actually. :giggle: He's so adorable!

IPB Image

But anyway, Nemo finds himself in an aquarium in a dentist office, where he also meets a lot of new aquatic friends. They devise a plan to help him escape through the toilet since all drains lead to the ocean. That is pretty disturbing and sad to think about. When Nemo does eventually escape, he pretends to be dead to trick the little girl who was going to take him home, but sadly that's when Marlin arrives and he then thinks his son is really dead. :( Dory saves the day by reuniting Nemo and Marlin, which of course had to happen!

This is a really fun, sweet, and enjoyable movie with tons of comedy, adventure, and a sweet message about a parent letting their child go and grow up. :bye2: I love the characters, and the movie (especially Dory) delivered some iconic quotes that we all know and love, which some of my gifs show. Here's another:

IPB Image

Such memorable and beloved lines from Dory. :haha: She's hilarious, but the whole movie is really good and I love it and its characters!

Since its release in 2003, Finding Nemo has become a beloved Disney Pixar movie by many. However with that being said, I find it to be a tad bit overrated as a whole. But my ranking is not purely based on that feeling; It’s also based on the fact that I’ve lost many favourite movies in the past few rounds because they were seen as a big threat to win it - I feel that Finding Nemo has many fans so I have no shame in tanking its score. And if you’re disappointed by this ranking, I don’t have anything to apologize for as I’ve said to a certain person that I will tank it when this said person threaten me to tank a favourite movie of mine so we are now even.

Oh gosh, it's the movie I ranked #29. :ph34rwave: I absolutely adore this film. It's in my Top 4 Pixar movies of all-time. It's most likely in my Top 10 Disney films of all-time. It's either in there or just missed it. So like Top 12 of all-time for Disney films for sure. Why did I rank it so low then? It was not an action against any one at all. It wasn't revenge for any film that was cut at all. I'm not going to name names because I signed a NDA but a ranker was going to cut The Lion King so I made a deal that if they didn't cut it I would tank any film of their choice. This is the film they chose. I was supposed to rank it at #30 but I couldn't bring myself to rank it dead last and opted to place Tiana there because I knew the reason some people would vote that film high. I settled on #29 and I think I still honored my deal with said ranker. I really hope this movie is still in the Top 10 despite my ranking. It really needs to be. I love all the characters in the film especially Dory. Ugh, Dory is love, Dory is life. Nemo is adorable as well and Marlon is a loving parent who loosens up by the end of the film. <3 I used to watch this movie over and over with my brothers when they were kids. They would only watch these five films: Toy Story, Toy Story 3, The Incredibles, Monsters Inc. and Finding Nemo. And Shrek and Shrek 2 but that is Dreamworks. :teehee: Those five films are near and dear to me and I'm glad they ALL made the finals. :w00t:

Finding Nemo is a 2003 American computer-animated adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The film was directed and co-written by Andrew Stanton with co-direction by Lee Unkrich, the screenplay was written by Bob Peterson, David Reynolds, and Stanton from a story by Stanton. The movie stars the incredible voice talents of Albert Brooks, Ellen DeGeneres, Alexander Gould, and Willem Dafoe. I had no idea Green Goblin was in the movie. :o The story revolves the story of an overprotective clownfish named Marlin, a forgetful regal blue tang named Dory and a Marlin's son, Nemo who has a little fin. Nemo gets adcuted by humans is taken all the way to Sydney Harbour in Australia. Along the way, Marlin learns to take risks and comes to terms with Nemo taking care of himself. And he meets Dory, Crush, Nigel and Squirt. Marlin's wife and Nemo's mother, Coral died along with the rest of the kids except Nemo. This is why Marlin is so protective of Nemo. Here is the scene where it happens. :'(

HG3L98NFyro

So like I mentioned above the film revolves around Nemo who is a young and cheerful clownfish who lives with his father, Marlin. They live in the Grear Barrier Reef and Nemo is eager to explore the ocean, but Marlin is is overprotective of him because a barracuda killed his wife and his kids leaving only him and Nemo as the only survivors. Nemo's egg was damaged during the attack so as a results he was born with a bad fin. On Nemo's first day of school, Marlin embarrasses Nemo during a field trip with Mr. Ray and his schoolmates, Tad, Pearl and Sheldon. YOU GUYS MADE ME INK REMAINS ICONIC. So Marlin talks to Nemo's teacher, Mr. Ray and explains his bad fin and while this is happening Nemo sneaks away from the reef and is abducted by a scuba diver. MY FAVORITE PART IS WHEN NEMO TOUCHES THE BOAT AND ONE HIS SCHOOLMATES IS LIKE "HE TOUCHED THE BUTT." :lmao:

"HE TOUCHED THE BUTT!" :dead:

Marlin chases the boat but it's too fast for him. Along the way he meets Dory who is a blue tang who suffers from short term memory loss. Like my dear friend, Nico. The two of them venture across the ocean and encounter many sea creatures. They encounter three sharks named Bruce, Anchor, and Chum who are trying to not eat fish. While at their meeting, Marlin sees the diver's mask that fell from the boat that took Nemo and also sees writing on it (42 Wallaby Way, Sydney). Marlin and Dory fight over the mask and in the processes Dory is hit and gets a nose bleed The blood sends Bruce into a feeding frenzy and he attacks Marlin and Dory who narrowly escape with their lives.

"FISH ARE FRIENDS NOT FOOD." ^_^

Nemo is placed in an aquarium in a dentist's office in Sydney, Australia where he meets the Tank Gang which includes a yellow tang Bubbles, a sea star Peach, a cleaner shrimp Jacques, a blowfish Bloat, a royal gramma Gurgle, and a blue and white humbug Deb/Flo and their leader Gill, a Moorish idol. Nemo learns he is to be given to Darla who is the dentist's niece, Darla. Darla is known to accidentally kill fish. :dead: Gill comes up with a plan to escape by sending Nemo inside the aquarium's filter and jamming it with a pebble so the dentist will have to put the fish into plastic bags while the tank gets cleaned and then they can roll out the window and into the harbour. Nemo agrees to do it but fails and is almost killed. Everybody saves him and Gill feels extremely guilty.

DARLA, THE FISH KILLER. :fear:

EvCPehzWmsw
The Tank Gang's first attempt to escape the aquarium which goes completely awry.

So back to Marlin and Dory. The mask falls into a trench in the deep sea where Dory reads the address as P. Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney. She remembers it despite her short term memory loss. WE STAN DORY. Dory and Marlin receive directions from a school of moonfish. They are supposed to swim through a trench, but Marlin decides they should swim over it and they encounter a forest of jellyfish that almost stings them to death. Dory remembered that they had swim through it but Marlin didn't trust her and that's why they were attacked. They both survive and Marlin and Dory wake up to find themselves on the East Australian Current. They are with Crush, a green sea turtle and Squirt, his adorable little son. There are other kids but we only care about Squirt. Marlin tells the story of his quest to the turtles who are impressed and news spreads across the ocean. A pelican named Nigel flies to the dentist's office and brings the news of Marlin's efforts to find Nemo. Inspired by his father's bravery, Nemo makes another attempt to jam the filter, and succeeds. The aquarium and its contents are covered in green algae because of the filter jam.

Nemo and Dory meet Crush and Squirt, who so totally rock.

Marlin and Dory exit the East Australian Current and are swallowed by a blue whale. Dory communicates with the whale who carries them to Sydney Harbour and shoots them through his blowhole. They meet Nigel who help the pair escape from a group of seagulls. He takes them to the dentist's office in his mouth. At the dentist's office, the dentist has installed a new high-tech filter, the AquaScum 2003 which spoils the Tank Gang's escape. Darla arrives and the dentist prepares to give Nemo to her. Nemo plays dead to save himself. aNigel arrives and terrifies Darla throwing the office into chaos. After the dentist throws Nigel out, Gill helps Nemo escape through a drain that leads to the ocean.

One of the most iconic scenes in the the film is when Dory talks whale and Nemo and Dory get swallowed by the whale.

H4BNbHBcnDI
Probably my favorite scene in the whole movie is the scene with the seagulls. "MINE! MINE! MINE!" is iconic and you will stan.

68QpAAH4_VM
Nemo attempts to leave the aquarium again after hearing of his dad's heroics. He pretends to go belly up to get flushed down the toilet. GENIUS.

Marlin arrives as soon as he says Nemo pretending to be dead. Thinking that he really is dead he abandons Dory and begins his journey home. Marling leaving causes Dory to lose her memory. She meets Nemo as he has reached the ocean, but of course she doesn't remember him. Marlin's departure causes Dory to lose her memory. However, she meets Nemo as he reaches the ocean, but she does not remember him. Dory's memory returns when she reads the word "Sydney" on a drainpipe. She reunites Nemo with Marlin, but is caught in a net with a school of grouper. Nemo enters the net and orders the fish to swim down in order to break the net so they can escape. After returning home to the reef, Marlin and Dory watch Mr. Ray take Nemo and his friends on a field trip. The film ends at the dentist's office where the dentist's new filter breaks and the Tank Gang escape into the harbour. The only problem is they are trapped in the plastic bags. :lmao: Ugh, I love this movie and the #29 rank breaks my heart but I lobe The Lion King more. :(

ulucJnxT7B4
Nemo, Marlin and Dory all being reuinted but Dory is captured but Nemo saves the day. "KEEP SWIMMING!" As Dory says "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming." :bobo: I love Ellen as Dory. Perfect casting.

The Tank Gang finally escapes but they are trapped in plastic bags in the ocean. :dead:

Finding Nemo was released on May 30, 2003, and it won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. It was also nominated in three more categories including Best Original Screenplay. Finding Nemo became the highest-grossing animated film at the time and was the second-highest-grossing film of 2003 earning a total of $867 million dollars worldwide by the end of its initial theatrical run on $94 million dollar budget. It's the best-selling DVD title of all tim with over 40 million copies sold as of 2006 and was the highest-grossing G-rated film of all time before Pixar's own Toy Story 3 overtook it. We stan excellence overtaking excellence/ The film was re-released in 3D in 2012. and in 2008, the American Film Institute named it the 10th greatest animated film ever made as part of their 10 Top 10 lists. I would love to see what else was on that list. A sequel was produced called Finding Dory, was released which was released in 2016. I love Finding Nemo but a sequel wasn't needed but appreciated because it was good. You know what is needed a sequel to Monsters Inc. I''m waiting. :) The film has a 99% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and even produced a video game which I'm sure was horrible. Toy Story 2 got a 100% but this got 99%? The injustice. Finding Nemo was the first Pixar film not to be scored by Randy Newman. :o Finding Nemo has numerous attractions at the Disney Parks including Turtle Talk with Crush which is so fun to take part of and Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage which made me claustrophobic. :dead: There are other attractions inspired by the film but I've never been on them or experienced them so I don't care to mention them. I love this film. Despite the ranking, I really love film and I really hope Finding Nemo finds its way into the Top 10. ^_^

Finding Nemo.

I ranked a Pixar film higher than Elliott? :o I'M SHOOK.

Only Diana can have her #1 not appear because she slays. And the public.

Well..... this has aged well.

If The Big Green made the top 10 like it deserved everyone would be united in happiness.

:dead:

A fair spot for Finding Nemo

It is.

It's now even as four Disney animated films and four Pixar films make up the Top 8. :sorcerer:

Yay this! :D Although this wasn't the Pixar film I wanted to show up, but I can live with this. :haha:

Considering there are nine Pixar films, the odds of someone else ranking certain Pixar films higher than me were pretty good. :haha:
