Shocking. Said no one ever. I have made it pretty clear I think a lot of Gen 1 pokemon are overrated, and Dragonite is among those. It's a good pokemon to use in-game and all that, and is pretty memorable as a tough challenge right before your rival at the end of Red & Blue, but I never cared about using one (or its design, probably one of the most unintentional and hilarious mismatches in design for a pokemon line ever, so bad it nears being good). I think it suffers for me in that like all dragons is a mid-to-late game addition (certainly not the worst offender in that category tho, but still), and the are other options that do the same job better, like Salamence which is faster and hits just as hard (+ the mega is ridiculous). Maybe a mega or a regional variant can breathe new like into a pokemon I don't care about? Wouldn't be the first time tbh. But as it is, I will take this chance to cut a pokemon I don't care about at all.
