  1. I saw someone say in a previous thread that Toneisha, unlike other divas, doesn't oversing, but undersings. I agree with this, because other than her KO, no Toneisha performance has made me want to stand up from where I'm sitting, while people like Kyla and Rose have done so many times with theirs. I know divas like them get criticized often for over singing, but they do it so well that it doesn't really take away from the performance for me. On the other hand, Toneisha usually just sings the songs without adding too many embellishments and it kinda bores me despite her singing the songs very well. Her performance lack the impact of say Kyla's "You Don't Own Me" or Kymberli's "Break Every Chain" or Rose's "Border Song"
  2. I found Khalea's and Toneisha's versions just fine. MaKenzie was the only one that I think truly did great with the song.
  3. I could've sworn Marybeth was the one that wanted to go pop as well, but I wasn't 100% sure, so now that somebody else says it, at least I know I'm not crazy.
  4. i agree that brynn would've won anyways, but no one can argue that Kyla's "original" wasn't a bus
  5. and that makes two country females that appreciate Camm's talent!
  6. I honestly thought Michael Lee was a shoo-in to make Blake's Top 3. I mean, he already got Kirk and Chris in, what was the point of saving Dave?
  7. country songwriter and member of The Highwomen, Natalie Hemby apparently reached out to Camm and suggested that they write a song together someday.
  8. I know I don't really expect him to sing the Disturbed version, I know that's what longtimelurker listed but when I said he would do good on it I was thinking of the original version
  9. Probably an unpopular opinion but I didn't think any of his battles this season were very one-sided. Most people point out Mandi Castillo vs CammWess, but Mandi didn't exactly blow CammWess out of the water even if the song choice wasn't in her favor. The others weren't that one-sided either. Mike vs Zach - The song choice didn't cater to just one of them, because it didn't fit either of them. Darious vs Nelson - The song choice fit both of them and they both did great. Thunderstorm vs Cedrice - You can't say the song choice was in favor of just one of them either, because "Stay" isn't that stylistically similar to "Blackbird" or "Fever". Zan vs Brittney is probably the most set up for a Zan win because while they each got the same amount of singing time, Zan got hers first, allowing her to make a bigger impact. But in terms of style, "Closer To Fine" is a good fit for both of them.
  10. I really think Brendon would make sense as a coach because he's at the point where his music isn't received well as before so he'll try his hands at TV appearances. Kinda like Adam/Kelly/John/Gwen. Makes a lot of sense imo.
  11. good for her! at least the original artist liked her version.
  12. so IDF decides who the finalists are, Todd is part of it, and Thunderstorm isn't? Did @mjdolorico vote on 15 different gadgets or something?
  13. Best: Blake, Kelly, and Alicia. I voted Usher because even if I wasn't around for many of the seasons I've heard many great things about him and I've seen his videos with Michelle Chamuel. Worst: I don't really heavily dislike any of the coaches I've seen, so I just went with the majority and voted Shakira.
  14. she most likely won't be a coach next season, but does anybody know if Alicia said anything about never coming back? I want her to come back as much as the next person tbh.
  15. okay wow I like or love every single person that you mentioned except maybe Cali. I guess we really do tend to like the same people. S14 had so many robbed people in the Playoffs tbh. Reid, Kelsea, Wilkes, Mia...
  16. you too who were your snowflakes S13-S18? i think we had a lot of those in common.
  17. she was technically very good but that song did nothing for her style. she did hit some powerful notes but they felt out of place in that song imo I liked every other performance of hers and she was my pick to win but that one performance sticks out like a sore thumb in her catalogue.
  18. lol that was a wild guess i've never even seen anything from Hannah and Jacquie.
  19. I generally have more female favorites than I do males but I mentioned in another thread that the male favorites I do have generally don't make T12. I picked support who I support because I have no problem rooting for a male and a female at the same time.
  20. I'm hoping for a male I could root for. It was exhausting rooting for females this season knowing they wouldn't win. But then again, most of the males I root for either don't make it far or flop in the lives. Mendeleyev - cut in battles Jake HaldenVang - bussed in Playoffs Will Breman - was a mess in the lives Domenic Haynes - victim of Adam's stupidity Jake Wells - flopped in KO's Michael Lee - cut in Playoffs Reid Umstattd - cut in Playoffs Wilkes - cut in Playoffs Rod, Thunderstorm, and Noah are exceptions.
  21. I mean Maelyn is excellent, but was it really that one-sided? Savannah put up a good fight. I remember Kyla being leagues ahead of JessLee in their battle even if Kyla wasn't all that good herself. Mandi vs Sara Collins also comes to mind.
  22. I heavily dislike shorter seasons, but I think the Cross Battles were the biggest dumpster fire that ever happened to The Voice. Shorter seasons feel more "disappointing" rather than upsetting. Cross Battles were just dreadful in every way. - Removes the Knockouts, where many artists have the opportunity to shine the most. - Adds an extra live round, so the producers cut away some of the later live rounds to fit them into the budhet. - Unbalanced teams with more popular coaches gaining unfair advantage. - The unpredictability of it all (at least from the contestant's POV) makes it easier for many to crack under the pressure. - The rigged order of reveals makes it so blatantly obvious who TPTB wants to go through.
