  1. Yeah, especially considering that one of them was on the show in a different season
  2. You know what, S20 had a lot of contestants that went out on a high note. Lindsay Joan’s battle Durrell Anthony’s battle Savanna Woods- Black Hole Sun Anna Grace- If I Die Young Ryleigh Modig- Drivers License and It Will Rain (yes, I’m including both) Gihanna Zoe- Reflection Bonus: Victor Solomon- Freedom (since he got the lowest placement in the finale)
  3. I remember I didn’t care for it much at first because I knew the incorrect spoiler of him getting eliminated in battles, but his audition grew on me after more rewatched and I realized that he was also a good performer. The fact that I ended up liking his run on the show also made me realize that I liked his audition. His audition is now one of my favorite male country auditions in the show’s history.
  4. Yes. Team Blake was so strong that night. Ryleigh Modig too (both performances)
  5. In S16 Alone Beth Griffith Manley- I Put a Spell on You Domenic Haynes- Love Is a Losing Game Presley Tennant- Nothing Breaks Like a Heart Shawn Sounds- A Song for You* Luna Searles’ Audition Trey Rose’s Battle (deserved a steal) I know Shawn’s IS wasn’t his best but definitely deserved PV over Gyth
  6. bodie- Without Me Most of his performances up to this point were great, and he was just coming off his best performance, but when I saw this performance, my reaction was “why are you doing this?”. This performance basically erased the momentum he had gained from the past few weeks, and was one of the factors that prevented him from winning the show.
  7. I went with Caitlin and Gymani. Group 2 was so much better than Group 1 here. Many of those auditions honestly could have turned more chairs
  8. I think this is why S17 doesn’t get as much hate 1. It’s better in comparison to the surrounding seasons. It followed one of the most controversial seasons in S16 and before then then, Season 15 had some major controversies and Season 14 was generally underwhelming. It was also the last season with the long format, which IDF prefers due to more performances for the contestants. 2. The Semifinal Results. Even though there were a lot of controversial contestants, the Top 4 were generally the best received (Jake had his best Live performance, Ricky and Katie were consistent and the IDF favorite defeated the two most disliked contestants left in the save). It wasn’t like a lot of seasons where someone made the finale that many people considered undeserving.
  9. He gives me premiere closer vibes. Four chair placement guesses -Cait seems like a candidate to open the premiere. -Neil will be in Episode 2 or 3 (the block implies he’ll be no later than E3, but the producers won’t put a him in the premiere due to him moving off Team Blake). -NariYella will be Episode 4 or 5, since she’s the only Four Chair Turn not in playoffs.
  10. Season 17 too, since some of the favorites got eliminated in battles, such as Mendeleyev, and a lot of contestants with unpopular auditions made the Top 20 (Team Kelly that season…)
  11. It’s too early to tell, since we haven’t seen any performances from her on the show yet.
  12. Essentially the opposite of The Voice, where taped rounds are much more important
  13. Yeah, I didn’t like Megan’s audition on either show, but I liked her Battle and Knockout performances, so hopefully she improves. Yeah I was surprised when I realized how similar their trajectories were. Both had one of the weaker auditions in their Voice seasons, but they were great in the battles and knockouts. I don’t think either of their playoffs were that bad, but they weren’t as good as their previous two performances.
  14. I think he said he changed it because he didn’t want to use his actual name when he became more active with spoilers.
  15. It’s not unpopular. I would have given it a B at most. That same round, a lot of IDF, including myself, was baffled at how he gave Payge a C+, while every contestant in Episode 2, including JusJon, got at least a B- for their performances. I thought Payge’s KO was better than Larriah’s for the record. Charlie has the unpopular opinions a lot of the time.
  16. Did anyone notice that not only were Megan Danielle and Michael Williams on the same season of The Voice and the same audition episode of American Idol, but Megan sang You Say in her American Idol audition and Michael sang You Say in his Blind Audition on The Voice? Michael definitely seems to have improved from The Voice, and his audition on Idol was way better than his Blind Audition.
  17. Well, I’m probably going to log off IDF and take a break from spoilers at least until the season starts. (I went almost 2 years without logging on before and about 1 year during the hiatus and S22). I’m still likely watching the season, since there were contestants who had runs I enjoyed in shorter seasons (I mean Cam is one of my favorite winners so…).
  18. Anyone backing out of the spoiler thread now that we’re going to potentially have a T8 spoiled before we see a single performance? Or maybe check around the time we get to Knockouts? I mean, I stayed in S13 but this might be too much for me.
  19. If there’s any year for Voice fans to watch Idol, this is the year to do it, and not just because of the format
  20. This format sucks. It’s giving me TVUK/Australia vibes. And the US had one of the better formats
  21. I rewatched the full video on YouTube. All of the other coaches and the studio audience preferred Liam, but Will eliminated him. Even his opponent was very shocked by the result. Jessie J in particular got very frustrated, since she and the other coaches already used their steals and eventually stormed out because she didn’t want to be in the same room as Will. I don’t think I have ever seen an elimination that resulted in this much drama from other coaches. Here is the full video in case you haven’t seen it. It wasn’t a great battle, but I felt that Liam gave the better performance, and agree that he was robbed.
  22. Girl Named Tom- Wichita Lineman This possibly might be even more emotional now because it was dedicated to their father who was battling cancer, and he passed away shortly after they won.
