ME & EARL & THE DYING GIRL
Apparently I'm participating in this round? #BlameDerek I kid, I kid... To be honest, I don't really have an attachment to most of Chris's nominations for once, so I just picked the film that was at the top of his list because I'm lazy. The film is based off the book of the same name, and was adapted to screen by the author as well. It stars Thomas Mann (I remember finding him cute in Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D so now I regret this cut, tbh...), Olivia Cooke, RJ Cyler and Jon Bernthal. It had a budget of $8 million and only made $9.1 million at the box office, which surprises me since I remembered this film being popular. Or am I thinking of something else? (EDIT: Yes, I was thinking of The Fault in Our Stars, apparently.) Anyway, this film is about a high school student named Greg, who - alongside his friend Earl (hence the name) - befriend a classmate who's been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Despite the low box office take, it received positive reviews from critics.
