Kherington Payne (Season 4)

It's no secret that I have never been fond of Kherington as a contestant on the show. Kherington just felt far less interesting than most of the women she competed against during her season. And most of the men. Kherington is one of the earlier examples of the boring, bland Contemporary dancers that would go on to plague the show. I never found her to be that versatile as a competitor, and her performance skills severely paled in comparison to her magnetic partner for the season, tWitch. tWitch is probably the reason why Kherington advanced all the way until Top 10. All of the dances they performed together are either uninteresting and/or poorly danced. But the solid partnership between Kherington and tWitch, and tWitch's charisma truly carried her safely along in the competition until Top 12 week. Kherington fell into the bottom after a horrible night of dancing both a Krump and Tango routine. However, Kherington survived over Comfort except not really. Clearly, the judges were ready to get rid of Kherington and bussed her the hard way. LOL. Kherington danced two of the worst pieces of SYTYCD history between the Country Two-Step and that "Canned Heat" Jazz. Kherington went home the following night, and justifiably so.

After the season, Kherington found a lot of work and success in the commercial dance world. Unfortunately, Kherington also found herself in the midst of a pretty severe struggle with drug addiction that derailed her career and personal life for some years. Heartbreaking considering how sweet Kherington is as an individual. Thankfully, Kherington is now sober and living what seems to be such a happy life. Kherington is engaged and now has a newborn daughter. She seems to be so happy, and that is what is really most important at the end of the day. She was so brave in opening up about her past and telling her story, and I hope she continues to live a life of sobriety. <3

Randi Evans (Season 5)

Randi Evans (though she goes by Randi Strong) is a Contemporary/Jazz dancer from Season 5 of the show. Much like Kherington, Randi is another mostly unmemorable, blonde Jazztemporary woman from the show's history. However, Randi succeeded in dancing two wonderful routines while on the show, at the very least. That does count for something.

Randi partnered with the insufferably bad Evan for the first half of the competition, much to her benefit considering his popularity pushed her to the Top 10 with ease. During the first week of the competition, Randi danced the very underrated "I Only Have Eyes For You." A gorgeous piece that still manages to stand out in a crowd of really strong opening routines that first week. Randi followed this routine up with the Jive to "Shake A Tail Feather" during Top 18 week. The routine is just not good in my opinion, and the couple deserved to fall into the bottom over Kayla/Max. Whatever. At least Top 16 week is a different story. Randi danced the iconic "Butt Dance" choreographed by Mia Michaels and at least cemented a place for herself in the show's history. Randi really is incredible in the routine, and "Koop Island Blues" remains a gem of a dance routine imo. Except Top 14 week saw Randi dance the worst routine of the night.

YES. WORSE THAN "CREATOR." :)

Randi deserved to peace out after that Broadway number to "Rich Man's Frug" choreographed by Joey Dowling. But once again, somehow Evan's popularity saved the others of them from landing in the bottom. Randi (and especially Evan) continued to suck during Top 12 week. Both the Lyrical Hip-Hop and Samba routines are better off forgotten. Luckily for her, she survived one more week without landing in the bottom for no good reason. At least she was swiftly Kameron'd from the competition after that disastrous Paso Doble with Kupono.

Ever since her time on the show, Randi has steadily worked and choreographed in the business. She seems to be living life happily, which is great. Randi could probably advance a little further in the competition, but there is no harm in eliminating her now either.

ok didn't know the Jacque nomination was going to be the controversial one against the likes of Chelsie, Janette, Nick L. and Blake.

Ā

All the dancers I nominated I consider equally bad with only one or two good routines on their belt.

Ā

And no Jacque was not a good contestant at all when outside her contemporary with Will all she did was mediocre

Meh.

Ā

I knew Elliott was going for chaos because that's what he does and it seemed like Diana just nominated the first 12 Contemporary dancers she saw while scrolling through the front page. :dead:

Ā

And I think Jacque has more good routines than just that one with Will, but to each their own.

Calling it now: for Cycle 3, everyone has to choose an eliminated dancer whose name starts with ā€œJā€ and they return to the competition and have immunity until top 100

:dead:

Ā

I donā€™t think anyone really knew how much I like Jacque. She was the reason I kept watching season 11 once Serge & Carly weā€™re eliminated.
