I felt that I had a clear preference in the majority of these. I honestly don’t think the rankings themselves are doing some of the individuals justice, such as Holly Brand and D. Smooth. 
 

I gave it a B overall, since I found most battles at least half enjoyable

If Holly and Nariyella had partners on their level I'd consider giving them my vote. 

 

As it stands though, my vote goes to Ali and D. smooth. They tore that song up and they were the closest battle today.

Going off of overall battle here (individual ranking would be very different). But yeah based on how they did together I think Michael/Ryley is my clear #1.

Kate Consentino vs Tiana Goss - Honestly I do not know where to place this battle I am just in awe of how chaotic it was lol

 

Great

1. ALI vs D. Smooth - I had high expectations for this one and I was NOT disappointed. I really liked the vibe of this battle and I feel like both singers brought their own thing to the song. My pick would be D Smooth for his consistency and delivery. I also feel like he showed us lots of tricks that he didn't demonstrate in his blind. I have to commend ALI's improvement though.

2. Michael B. vs Ryley Tate Wilson Good battle to end the night on. I will say I don't think Michael "destroyed" Ryley. I mean, he still clearly won but aside from a few off moments, Ryley definitely held his own.

 

Good, but too one-sided

3. Grace West vs Carlos Rising - Carlos did good for a song way outside his comfort zone but this was definitely Grace's performance lol. She sounded gorgeous.

 

4. NariYella vs Chloe Abbott - NariYella sounded AMAZING, I think her voice actually works better for me on these types of songs rather than the powerhouse stuff. She didn't strain at all here. Chloe sounded just ok, her vocals are giving Tiny Desk backup singer.

 

5. Holly Brand vs Katie Beth Forakis - I still don't think I'm quite on the Holly train yet but she definitely destroyed her opponent here. Katie Beth's tone was just way too thin for the song.

 

 

Overall, a good episode of battles!

I'm not voting based off of who I like the most, but based off of which battle shocked me the most.
