  1. absolutely deserved all four: alexa wildest, ruby leigh, chechi sarai, mac royals, kaylee shimizu, jarae womack, nini iris, huntley ok yeah i can get behind this!: jordan rainer, caleb sasser, dylan carter wouldn't have predicted it, but i can understand why: ephraim owens, rudi, lila forde good performance, but i would've guessed a few chairs less: stee, jacquie roar, brandon montel i didn't really hear what the coaches heard: laura williams, willie gomez and the "holly forbes" award of season 24 goes to...: mara justine ok but no four chairs for them?!: deejay young, reid zingale
  2. happy people are coming around on tanner with this battle – i LOVE his tone. im waiting to see his knockout before i jump to any conclusions regarding his win over chechi, but, at this moment in time, i can see his appeal as an individual contestant from gwen's perspective, the kid's good.
  3. in my defense i did the week 1 and week 2 rankings without comparing them to one another they were both preeetty underbaked but i preferred bias by just a smidgen
  4. Blind Auditions: Episode 3 Stee - Sugar - 8.1 Chechi Sarai - Lovin' You - 9.2 Reid Zingale - July - 8.3 Claudia B. - Human Nature - 6.5 Mac Royals - Gravity - 8.4 Noah Spencer - Something in the Orange - 7.1 Talakai - Stay with Me - 6.8 RUDI - You Don´t Own Me - 7.9 Blind Auditions: Episode 4 Laura Williams - Fingers Crossed - 6.2 Ms Monet - Higher Love - 7.7 Jason Arcilla - Dreams - 6.4 Kaylee Shimizu - Golden Slumbers - 9.1 Bias - God´s Country - 6.2 Rachele Nguyen - Bleeding Love - 7.5 LVDNR - Hotline Bling - 8.1 Jacquie Roar - Here For the Party - 7.6

  6. conspiracy theory: these results ARE inaccurate, but it's because someone just doesn't have the heart to tell us that nini got eliminated in favor of ryan gallagher in a long blonde wig
  7. i think it would've been nicer if he just said he hated her as a person
  8. i didnt put down anyone! im just saying just because we didnt get an artist of the exact genre for the leak doesn't mean its necessary to tune out completely yk? mara's fantastic and im excited to see her audition whenever it airs (and for what its worth i didn't even mention anyone's name?)
  9. yall can be as disappointed about no signs of the powerhouse white girl of the day but lets be fair here, jordan KILLED it
  10. ooh, little side note bc i don't know if its been brought up – mac royals competed on season 13 of american idol under his real name, malcolm allen, where he was eliminated in the semifinals!
  11. everyone hates nick here, and i can't 100% blame them, but i thought, all things considered, his team had some magnificent battles. allegra vs. michael and joanna vs. roderick were SOLID – on the same wavelength, thunderstorm artis had a pretty excellent run even with the remote lives.
  12. unfortunately, carebear probably isn't noivas' wife. i used to be active on the AGT wiki and she's been active there for years – it's hard to believe she isn't just someone who's just been around the reality competition online circuit the last few years. ... having said that the jokes about her being noivas' wife are funny so im gonna keep saying it anyway
  13. hey all! it's been a while, but, as our most recent season has gotten underway, i've decided to reopen voting back to the idolforums masses! live playoffs voting is LIVE! voting can be found here! and, in case anyone's interested or curious, the season up until this point can be found here!
  14. i dont know if anyone noticed, but whatnottosing.com seems to have been updated for the first time in two years as of a few days, maybe a few weeks ago? no scores have been added, but all of the artists and performances from S19 and S20 have. thoughts?
  15. oh, yeah, you're 100% right about that. im more so having an issue with the fact that we're talking about these singers as if america not voting for them for being not country is their fault, yk?
  16. hm — i’m really enjoying these write-ups, but there’s one little note on my mind that i wanna offer moving forward. im having a hard time feeling like some of these criteria are really necessarily… i dunno, fair? at least two of the categories you’ve listed partially hinge on the singer’s identity or genre of choice — the insinuation sometimes feels like they fail by default because they aren’t white country singers? idk, the idea of framing these facts as the fault of the contestants just kinda doesn’t super sit well with me, but i might just be misreading a bit. otherwise, well done!
  17. Elise Kristine - Holding Out For A Hero by Bonnie Tyler - 5.5 (At this point in both the competition and the series' lifespan, being a good singer isn't enough – song choice and believability are so important, and as impressive as Elise's pipes are, she could not have chosen a more yoinky-sploinky-type song to cover, especially if she couldn't shred any of the cheese off.) Oliver Steele - Better Together by Jack Johnson - 6.0 (Laid back, breezy, and a bit sleepy. Didn't really push the envelope at all, but at least he stayed in tune. Still, you don't want anyone's eyes to start glazing over mid-performance.) Matt Wilson - Speechless by Dan + Shay - 7.0 (A really solid vocal with some fantastic runs and a spectacular tone on a song I simply did not care for in the slightest. His own investment in the lyric was clear, but his voice just isn't well-suited for these kinds of compositions, even though, in this case, I think he made it work.) Kaeyra - Don’t Let Go (Love) by En Vogue - 6.8 (Again with the song choices. Kaeyra has a rock-solid instrument – she can't go wasting it on loungey reruns of songs you'd find under 600 of the "Compositions That Would've Gotten You to the Finals in Season 3" Jeopardy category.) Pjae - Golden by Jill Scott - 5.3 (Good news: Showcased more stage presence, lyrical investment, and reckless abandon then anyone else who came before him, and chose probably one of the best songs of the night on paper. Bad news: It wouldn't have hurt for him to hit more than half of his notes. His body of work makes me wanna see him perform again, but the show clearly wants him gone – still impressive that he wasn't the worst of the night, though.) Zachariah Smith - Lucille by Little Richard - 6.7 (I honestly have no idea what to say or how to grade this performance. I'd give him a solid 10 for stage presence and... maybe a 3 for the actual vocal? I deducted a single point every time he howled at the end of a word. Can't see he wasn't entertaining, though.) Mariah Faith - You Should Probably Leave by Chris Stapleton - 5.0 (I think I would've liked this performance more if I could hear more than half of the vocal. Then again, the half I did hear was a song that was dragged through a nice thick pool of molasses. Two words: Lacking momentum. She deserved a better arrangement to suit her voice.) Emma Busse - Lay Me Down by Sam Smith - 7.2 (Ten points for looking phenomenal, sounding phenomenal, and delivering her vocal with absolute conviction and believability! Now let's take two and a half away for the shapes her mouth made every time she sang a new word, and... maybe a third of a point away for a kinda creaky glory note. Still, probably the best vocal of the night so far – and did she not look stunning?) Warren Peay - Set Fire To The Rain by Adele - 7.5 (Thank you, Warren, for bringing the type of creativity to the stage every single country boy in the show's history wishes they could bring to the stage like this. The fire could've been turned up a little brighter – and I still think he should've lost the hat – but a risk worth taking means a Top 20 worthy of Warren.) Nailyah - Lovin’ You by Minnie Riperton - 7.7 (While I can't exactly smile and nod my head in response to any number of mildly unnecessary and ultimately showboaty whistle notes in a performance like this (see: Elise, Zachariah), I'd be lying if I said the rest of the performance wasn't pretty stellarly sung, if not a teensy bit dated. Bonus points for having the best song choice of the night.) Haven Madison - The Middle by Zedd, Maren Morris, & Grey - 4.1 (Oh, dear...) Lucy Love - What’s Love Got To Do With It? by Tina Turner - 4.6 (Personality? Through the roof. Conviction? In spades. Notes? Thrown out the window and into the nearest body of shark-infested waters. It says a little bit much when you can't even sing half of the song's last chorus at risk of being out of breath. Homegirl's in trouble.) Iam Tongi - Don’t Let Go by SpawnBreezie - 8 (No one was more at ease on stage than Iam was last night, and it wasn't even because of home field advantage. Props for being able to sound so pristine and soothing without letting the energy drag, for a fantastic tone, and for choosing a pretty obscure tune to cover to begin with. He's a deserved frontrunner – easily the best of the night, at least next to...) Allen Stone - Is This Love? by Bob Marley - 10 (What do you mean I can't grade him?)
  18. kiss from a rose is a terrible song choice for kaylin her elimination might make a lil more sense with that knowledge
  19. gonna throw Delvin Choice - Bright Lights into the mix for standout performances!
  20. in my blood would actually sound pretty killer in michael's range. i'm gonna toss my hat into the ring for lost in japan though. as far as shawn mendes song goes, it's one of the few i'd actually consider underrated
  21. hold on a sec. youre saying that there was a battle that didn't even happen, where one of the artists just didn't sing and the other moved on by default, and they still montaged a normal battle? and sheer element's, no less? christ
