Usually when the theme is catered towards the women, the men end up being received better. Biggest example is probably Mariah Carey night in S7, but it happens pretty consistently. It’s easier for the audience to compare the women against Adele and judge them harsher than it is when a guy sings Adele.

Well we can ignore S4-S7, S9 and S12 since they kept their gender pars until the finals (10 for S12) began, though once they hit the finals, the men were all eliminated consecutively in S12 before the women.

FWIW, this is the first season the women have outnumbered the guys every week (so far, anyway) since AI3.
