*Wallace
Aww sad to see Cool Runnings miss out at the end there. I would have given that a vote. Oh but I feel like I like more movies in this 1993 round than I did for the 1994 round. Of course that happens when I don't participate.

This movie is just so beautiful. So much emotion, so much passion. To hear stories like this, something I will never experience, is why I love film so much. Derek Quote The movie is good but the book is incredible. 13. Alex95
12. True Romance 10.3/15 Watch Trailer @*Diana - 9/15 @Elliott - 9/15 @FrogLenzen - 10/15 @Alex95 - 11/15 @1234567890 - 11/15 @Steven_ - 12/15 Alex Quote I wanted to watch this but never got around to it, which is a shame because I feel like I'd like it. 11. Sleepless in Seattle 9.8/15 Watch Trailer @*Diana - 2/15 @1234567890 - 8/15 @Steven_ - 10/15 @1234567890 - 11/15 @Alex95 - 13/15 @Elliott - 15/15 Alex Quote Romcoms are very hit or miss to me. It has to have a certain level of self-awareness and the humor needs to be top-notch for it to work for me. Unfortunately Sleepless in Seattle doesn't work for me. Apologies to my mom who loves this movie lol. Elliott Quote Ew. 10. Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey 8.3/15 Watch Trailer @Steven_ - 4/15 @Elliott - 4/15 @1234567890 - 7/15 @FrogLenzen - 9/15 @*Diana - 11/15 @Alex95 - 15/15 Steven Quote I haven’t seen this film since I was a little kid, so this is a nostalgia ranking. I do remember the ending when they're all reunited again and how touching it is, especially when Shadow returns. Elliott Quote The last... idk, ten?... minutes of this movie absolutely destroy me. Alex Quote These dog movies are cheesy and stupid and I don't care how heartless that makes me sound!!!! Edited July 27, 2023 by Alex95
*Wallace
Ooh I'm surprised Sleepless in Seattle didn't do better as I thought that was popular on here (don't know why I thought so but thought it was talked about positively?). Lol I love Alex apologizing to his mother for his ranking of it though. Pleased that none of my major favorites showed up yet (but they probably will on the next set). Alex95
9. The Fugitive 8.2/15 Watch Trailer @FrogLenzen - 4/15 @Steven_ - 7/15 @Elliott - 8/15 @Alex95 - 10/15 @*Diana - 10/15 @1234567890 - 10/15 Elliott Quote If you're going to remake an iconic 1960s television show as a movie, this should be the gold standard. Alex Quote The Fugitive knows what it is, it doesn't try to do to much, and it just nails the genre. Harrison Ford is a movie star, point blank. I really like a lot of these movies, and these action thrillers are just never at the top of my list, so I couldn't rank it higher. But I think this is the genre done absolutely right! 8. Dazed and Confused 8.0/15 Watch Trailer @Elliott - 1/15 @Alex95 - 2/15 @*Diana - 7/15 @1234567890 - 9/15 @FrogLenzen - 14/15 @Steven_ - 15/15 Elliott Quote One of my favourite films of all time. Alex Quote I just love Linklater. Looking through his filmography, there's a few movies maybe I don't love, but I'm realizing he's probably one of my favorite directors. This movie is just a vibe. Makes me nostalgic for a time I didn't live. It's just movie magic baby. 7. Robin Hood: Men in Tights 7.8/15 Watch Trailer @Alex95 - 4/15 @FrogLenzen - 5/15 @Elliott - 5/15 @Steven_ - 6/15 @1234567890 - 12/15 @*Diana - 15/15 Alex Quote As far as Mel Brookes comedies go this one is mid. But a mid Mel Brooks comedy is still better than most comedies out there. Also Cary Elwes in these late 80's early 90's movies...whew Derek Quote SILLY

Alex95
6. What's Love Got to Do with It 7.3/15 Watch Trailer @1234567890 - 4/15 @*Diana - 5/15 @FrogLenzen - 7/15 @Alex95 - 9/15 @Steven_ - 9/15 @Elliott - 10/15 Alex Quote I don't think it's a big secret I'm not much of a fan of biopics. But this movie is good and Angela is amazing. 5. Mrs. Doubtfire 7.0/15 Watch Trailer @*Diana - 1/15 @1234567890 - 2/15 @Steven_ - 5/15 @Alex95 - 7/15 @FrogLenzen - 13/15 @Elliott - 14/15 Steven Quote Robin Williams was a comedic genius. He's why this film is so funny and worth watching. Alex Quote There's only one reason why this film succeeds and it's Robin Williams. Anyone else in the role and it's likely terrible. But he is so charming, so effortlessly funny, and sells the movie so well. I can ignore all the cringy aspects of the film and just enjoys Williams' flawless performance. Elliott Quote RIP Robin Williams. His character was 100% the villain for this film. 4. The Sandlot 6.3/15 Watch Trailer @1234567890 - 1/15 @Elliott - 2/15 @Steven_ - 3/15 @*Diana - 6/15 @FrogLenzen - 12/15 @Alex95 - 14/15 Elliott Quote I watched this movie way too many times as a child that I wore the VHS out. Watched it again recently and felt it still held up. Steven Quote The Sandlot is a classic coming-of-age film. It's a great slice-of-life film with an authentic depiction of friendship and the hijinks that occur during this time of youth. Alex Quote Like Elliott, I grew up watching this movie all the time. I also rewatched it semi-recently with some friends and was surprised it held up (besides the lifeguard scene lol). Specifically the first half of the movie. The chubby kid had fantastic comedic timing. The second half of the movie kinda lost me though. I also tanked it because I was afraid nostalgia could make it randomly win lol. *Wallace
Very pleased with how What's Love Got to Do with It and Mrs. Doubtfire ranked as I would have ranked those highly. Also good to see Robin Hood: Men in Tights ranking well too. I can't recall seeing The Sandalot. I feel like I must/should have but I can not recall. Alex95
3. The Nightmare Before Christmas 5.7/15 Watch Trailer @Steven_ - 2/15 @Alex95 - 3/15 @*Diana - 3/15 @1234567890 - 5/15 @Elliott - 6/15 @FrogLenzen - 15/15 Steven Quote 'm not really much of a Halloween fan, so I don't often watch Halloween movies around October. But if I do, then I'll rewatch The Nightmare Before Christmas. I do consider this one of my favorite movies. It's an entertaining and whimsical film with a colorful cast of characters. The music is pretty great too. Also, shout-out to the Halloween Town levels in the Kingdom Hearts games. Alex Quote Just a pitch perfect Halloween and Christmas film. The songs are literally all bangers. The story is simple and to the point, but still interesting. The characters are fun. Not a single complaint. Derek Quote Don't tell Dee about this tanking 2. Schindler's List 5.3/15 Watch Trailer @Alex95 - 1/15 @FrogLenzen - 2/15 @1234567890 - 6/15 @Elliott - 7/15 @*Diana - 8/15 @Steven_ - 8/15 Alex Quote Devastating. Utterly devastating. When people ask me what I think are the best films of all-time, not necessarily my favorite, this is one of the first movies that comes to my mind. Elliott Quote An amazing film that I have zero desire to watch again. 1. Jurassic Park 2.8/15 Watch Trailer @Steven_ - 1/15 @FrogLenzen - 1/15 @Elliott - 3/15 @1234567890 - 3/15 @*Diana - 4/15 @Alex95 - 5/15 Steven Quote I consider Jurassic Park my favorite movie. It's a perfect popcorn flick that still holds up today. It's a thrilling film that keeps you on the edge of your seat, and it remains enjoyable no matter how many times you watch it again. There are so many memorable movie moments in this film thanks to Steven Spielberg's superb direction and John Williams's brilliant score. These moments include the characters seeing the dinosaurs for the first time, the T-Rex making her first appearance and that entire sequence in the rain, and the raptors in the kitchen as the kids try to escape unharmed. The entire film is a fun and action-packed adventure film. Jurassic Park is a masterpiece and one of the greatest movies of all time. Derek Quote This is my #1 favorite movie of all time. In addition, I really and truly think it is one of the best movies ever made. And that's not just me being hyperbolic because I like it so much. Extra points for the soundtrack, how well they adapted the novel, and the special effects which still hold up. Alex Quote I thought about tanking this just for fun, but as you can tell by the score it wouldn't have made any difference. While I don't quite have the affinity for this movie that some of the rankers do, I am still very much a fan. There hasn't been a single good sequel though.
