I find this song to be incredibly underrated for the album inspired by the song title - I love the simplicity of the song, as well as the message. With that being said, I would have gladly taken "Easy Silence" over this song in the Top 21.

As a band, The Chicks scored their first ever #1 on Country Radio with this song following the introduction of Natalie Maines as the lead singer. This song is exactly what you expected from late 1990s country - it had all the element to be a successful hit, even though I find that this a song that people keep sleeping on.  While I am glad to see this song being represented in the Top 21, I would have gladly taken "I Can You Love You Better" & "You Were Mine" in the Top 21 to represent Wide Open Spaces, as those are the two standout songs from the album in my opinion.

One of my all-time favourite song from Patty Griffin, The Chicks does not disappoint with their take on this song . There's something about their version that I absolutely love - it may be the simplicity of the song and the vulnerability in Natalie's voice especially in relation to the other songs from the album. Anyway, it may not be their most popular song but it is one of my standout from "Fly" & I am glad that I was able to bring it into Top 21.

I feel like I should love this more considering it's also a Patty Griffin cover but I've always been partial to Top of the World.
