I'm probably a bigger Tae fan than most. But yeah his song choices suck tbh. Ofc coming from someone who doesn't care much for most country.

Yo Tae sounds pretty good! His low register can lack a bit of support but those belts are just as clear live. Sound exactly the same. Yall are sleeping on this man for real.

I wasnt a fan of her run but that performance was actually pretty decent.

Big shoes to fill with this one. Please be good. He has the range but that's different than having the right voice to cover Queen.

I don't have too high expectations. Not necessarily cause of the contestants, but usually the first live round is a bit rough around the edges, if not one of the weaker rounds of the season.

A few more before we get into live shows. - I honestly don't think Nathan Chester's version of Oh! Darling is so outclassed by Sasha and Juliet. Yeah, they are more powerful no denying that. But I think Nathan's vocal had a bit more nuance and suaveness that the other 2 lacked. I'd rank Sasha first, but Nathan and Juliet is a coin flip for me. - ok, y'all know I'm a big Kala fan (arguably her biggest fan on here..) and not so much with Zoe. But I do think her version of Iris is just as good, In fact I slightly prefer Zoe's. Kala had the better first half but I prefer Zoe's 2nd half. Her decision to use her chest belting and sustain those notes near the end rather than Kala'a mix/headvoice approach made the performance more impactful imo.

Calling it now. Triston, Will and Emmy will be our top 3 when it should be Will, Abi and Jack. I'm ready to grab some popcorn if it happens that's for sure.

Not too worried tbh, all his song choices have been bleh except the battle. This one is no different. Dan+Shay songs also have a surprising amount of range since one of them is a really good vocalist. So I don't think he'll be limited in that regard.

It's not the range im worried about so much as the uptempo part and having the right tone for a Queen song.

really like her performance from 2:40 onwards. shows what i like about her as a singer. The volume control on display is very well done. Her ability to go from soft, tender and quiet to her edgy higher chest range. I get sort of pop rock/punk vibes from it, and her headvoice throughout is chefs kiss, I like the angsty sound it has. Or at least that's what I get from hearing it here.

I only started fully watching S19 1. S19 Man, what a ridiculously stacked top 5. Willie, Grace and Casey alone had better runs than most of these contestants. Chayce and Colin were pretty solid country singers as well. 2. S21. Megan was the highlight for me. But Zachariah, Iam had really consistent runs. Wé though a bit inconsistent, was an absolute monster vocalist. Even Colin got better as the season progressed imo, though I think that's a bit unpopular here. 3. S20. Leah might be my favourite ABC contestant. Her and Fritz carried this top 5 imo. Was never the biggest nicolina fan but she was really good, Noah Thompson was solid. Huntergirl was...eh. Replace her with Christian and I'd consider switching places with S21. 4. S21. Will is the best male country singer since I've been watching ABC Idol. Jack is great. Not as high on Abi as everyone else but still really good. However triston/Emmy are the weakest contestants outside of maybe Huntergirl to finish top 5 in the ABC era.

For me, Julia's audition easily. When you sing a song as huge as ain't no way and kill it, it's gonna be hard to top that moment, and she never did imo. Also, post editing may have helped her out too since she never sounded nearly as good in other performances. As for McKenna. Quite a few to choose from, but I'll go with both sides now. Without thinking too hard it's probably in my top 5 performances of the season.

1. Jack 2. Will 3. Abi 4. Emmy 5. Triston Jack i'd probably consider a personal favourite at this point. Capable vocalist, versatile, has mostly had solid performances with some great ones sprinkled in. I respect Will's talent and from an objective standpoint I do think he's had the best run, hasn't really had a bad performance or even a bad moment. But I probably won't go back to his performances mostly due to song choice/genre, really like his tone though. Abi is hit or miss. It doesn't happen too often for me, but when she's 100% on she's one of the best. yellow brick road and audition would probably make my top 10 performances of the season, bring me to life was great too. But even when she doesnt completely hit the mark for me, at least she keeps things interesting when it comes to arrangements and song choices. Emmy has a pleasant voice, but thats all she's been most of the comp imo. With the exception of a few really emotive performances. My main gripe with her is she still manages to struggle quite a bit in comparison to her peers despite not doing as much vocally. I actually liked triston's performances, but after his Elvis performance. It's been a downward trajectory.

I don't care for this top 5. But I think Abi, Jack and Will would make a really good top 3. Hoping that's what happens.

Yeah.. I will take Iam, Megan, Colin, Zachariah and Wé over this top 5 any day. Only way I'd have considered this years top 5 is if it consisted of Will, McKenna, Jack, Abi and Julia.

Abi and Jack, well deserved.

McKenna and Abi were the only ones who really delivered in the Adele round, which should be expected I guess since it's their lane. For Adele round id rank them 1. Abi 2. McKenna 3. Will 4. Julia 5. Emmy 6. Triston.
