There was something that happened during Hailey's coach comment period that basically spoiled who she was going to pick as her coach. Kelly was trying to get to know her better as an artist so she asked her who else on the radio she would cover and Hailey very hesitantly said, "Ariana Grande." Like she felt bad about saying it in response to Kelly, but it was the truth, haha. Of course Kelly knew she had no chance after that.

I gotta admit that error had me dying laughing ever since it was first posted here.

Kelly posted the "Second Hand Smoke" clip on her IGTV channel, it has 128k views on there. The Voice posted Kelly's IGTV post in their story. The level of fan engagement for this song seems pretty high there's already 1.3k comments on the video. Brynn replied to several people's comments and also included more details about the song in this comment: "this one is called second smoke"...wrote it back in the summer still makes me sad to play" Hopefully with time it will hurt less. It's really brave to put something out there that is so personal.

Aww, Kelly just tweeted a link to the new song and called Brynn a magical unicorn. The line about the missing piece actually made me think of Kelly because she has a puzzle piece tattoo on her shoulder, that's not to say that I think it's about her but there are definitely things in the song that she'd most likely find relatable.

Someone is dying to share her new music with everyone. I think this is the first time Brynn has given an indication on social media that she's going to college since she referenced procrastinating writing an essay. Since she hasn't mentioned where she's going to school I think it would be best to respect her privacy and not mention it on here if you do know. During Brynn's interview on Kelly's talk show back when she appeared to promote "If I Could" Kelly seemingly went off script and congratulated Brynn on getting accepted to a specific college. Brynn looked really uncomfortable and said she didn't know what was going to happen yet with that. Not sure if she reacted that way because of the uncertainty of being able to actually attend or if she didn't want it to be public knowledge where she was going to go to school. Needless to say that part of the interview got cut from what aired. Just thought I would share that to explain why I think it's best to keep that info under wraps unless Brynn says something about it herself. Comparing this Adele cover to Skyfall I like how Brynn sounds on this one better.

No, from what I remember there wasn't really any indication from Wendy about her being a country artist at all so everyone there was really thrown when she picked Blake.

Brynn low key announcing her next music project will be a full album. When Brynn put out the BOATS EP, I remember seeing several people being underwhelmed at the amount of tracks on it considering how long it took for her to put out, but that seemed like it was a very specific project she wanted to put together to encapsulate "high school Brynn." It seems like she was simultaneously working on that project and her album just based on her making comments about saving certain songs that she wrote or even recorded awhile ago. Anyway, it's great that Brynn seems to be in a lot better place emotionally right now and everything seems to be coming together for her so well.

They cut out the part Kinsey said right before she said she was glad Kelly turned for her. She said that Kelly had been her choice for a coach going into her audition. So it sounds like Kelly could have gotten her without the block.

Well, that was an interesting editing choice for Wendy's coach comment portion. The way it played out in real life it really seemed like she was going to pick Kelly. During the listing of different artist she's collaborated with she mentioned Kirk Whalum. It took Kelly a minute to realize what she had said and she came back to it later and mentioned that Kirk's son Kyle is her bass player and that she and Kirk had performed together before. Wendy acted upset that Kelly performed with Kirk without her, that's when Kelly made the comment about having a TV show (implying she could make that collab happen on there). Wendy also was aware that Kyle was in Kelly's band. So it really seemed like Wendy was going with Kelly. Both Kelly and Ariana seemed to be pitching Wendy harder than Blake. In Kelly's closing argument she talked about how song choice was so key on this show and that's something she really felt she could help her with. Ariana basically told Wendy that she already knows what she's doing and she'd just allow her to do her thing. Both Kelly and Ariana had strong pitches and based on the genre Wendy sang they seemed more in Wendy's lane, so they were both understandably super confused when Blake got picked over them. People in the audience seemed taken off guard by it as well. I disagree with the source that told someone on the spoiler team that characterized Kelly being angry at Wendy's choice of coach. She was just super confused about what the heck happened because there was no indication at all by Wendy that she was leaning towards Blake and every indication she was leaning towards Kelly. Blake was completely rubbing getting Wendy in the other coaches faces and basically acting like he'd already won the season, so of course Kelly would find that annoying.

Kelly talked to the audience for quite awhile about the joy she feels when Blake realizes she blocked him. I think he knows she's always going to block him.

I've thought for awhile that Wendy would close either this episode or Tuesday's.

Brynn recently reunited with Ben Abraham, her co-writer for "If I Could" for a collaboration. At first I assumed they wrote another song together, but after looking into it more it looks like they filmed a video of them singing their song as a duet. I think something that was very underrated about Brynn during her run was how she really had a whole vision of what she wanted her performance to be. Everything from the instrumentation of her arrangements to how she wanted her sets to look visually. It's going to be interesting to see how that plays out in her career when music video shoots don't have to deal with Covid limitations and when she has her own headlining tour (this one could take awhile to happen).
