  1. Brynn Cartelli's "If I Could" was added to that playist today at #49.
  2. I watched the Road to Lives thing from Season 20 again yesterday and when Kelly was talking about how button happy she was her first season and I was thinking Ariana might be possibly the same way because she's been a fan of the show for awhile and might get a little overcome with the excitement of actually sitting in the chair and getting to turn for people. If everyone picks her in the first taping I think the other coaches would probably advise her to pace herself more or she's going to get full too fast. I suspect Ariana will get blocked at least two, but most likely three times so that could slow her up from getting pretty full after the first day.
  3. So awhile back I posted on here because I thought someone that I've been a fan of for a long time was going to be on this season of The Voice. Unfortunately I guessed wrong and she's on America's Got Talent this season instead of this show. Thinking about it in terms of the show format and the prize AGT does probably make more sense. Anyway it would have been fun to see Storm Large reunited with Paul Mirkovich and Nate Morton who both worked with her as part of the House Band for Rockstar Supernova and possibly see her be coached by Kelly, who I think would have loved her. A few months back Storm posted on all her social media accounts asking her fans if they thought she should do TV again. I guessed this show would be the most logical one for her to be on because she still seems to be friends with Paul and she's mentioned liking Kelly before and the casting director for this show was also the casting director for Rockstar.
  4. As someone that got to see both Brynn's Battle and Knockout live it seemed very likely to me that she was going to be Kelly's front runner just based on what I was seeing with the audience reactions towards her performances. The atmosphere for her Battle was completely electric, honestly with all the tapings I've been to since that season it's pretty rare to have that kind of energy. I will admit I was personally very distracted during that performance because I'm rhythmically impaired and I have to concentrate real hard to clap on the beat and everyone's clapping was a mess because the band was playing in a style where they were behind the beat, haha. I do remember the audience having big reactions to Brynn's big moments during the performance. During the Knockout the audience was so dead quiet listening to every word that she sang and you could tell once it was over that everyone was impressed. When it was revealed during the comments portion that she was 14 there was very obvious murmurs in the crowd because people were taken aback that she was so young. It's often lamented on here that the producer is trying to shove this person or that person down the audience's throats, but I do think something that plays a huge part in who they decide to promote is based on how the in studio audience reacts to that contestant. Kind of like a focus group. The only Team Kelly person that I was aware of at the time that I thought could be ahead of the pack other than Brynn was Hannah Goebel. I saw how hard Kelly fought to convince her to pick her and she had a great voice and she was older and more experienced than Brynn. The other people I saw from Team Kelly pre-lives were Alexa Capelli, Teana Boston, Dylan Hartigan, Jamilla, Kaleb Lee, and Jorge Eduardo so I had seen a pretty large portion of the team.
  5. I had a feeling that this might be coming, I'd be honored to run this thread.
  6. Have you guy's visited Brynn's official website lately? It was redesigned when Long Way Home came out and that layout mostly featured her Instagram posts with some of the promo shots for BOATS in the background, but it was redesigned and launched again yesterday. The Long Way Home video is featured pretty prominently in the new design. https://www.brynncartelli.com/
  7. Here it is streaming on all platforms: https://brynncartelli.lnk.to/boats
  8. Here's release day press round up. Everything has been positive so far. I like how in depth they are going in explaining the kind of artist Brynn is. This is mostly a description of the EP, no interview: https://www.the360mag.com/brynn-cartelli-x-based-on-a-true-story/ This one has a lot of discussion about Imaginary Stranger, Brynn's musical development background going all the way back to when she first started writing, some detailed insights about writing Jane, and finishing up talking about the collaboration process. https://americansongwriter.com/brynn-cartelli-based-on-a-true-story-ep-interview/ If I Could performance followed by a short interview: Pretty long interview with someone that's been a fan since Brynn was on The Voice, she's a talent manager herself in addition to being a journalist:
  9. I'm loving the prominent placement Jane is starting to get on playlists. It was given the #1 spot on Amazon Music's Singer Songwriter playlist (per Brynn's IG story) and the #1 spot on the Pop Somber playlist on Tidal. https://tidal.com/browse/playlist/809ebf1d-27f7-4a34-a926-927a6081150e
  10. Brynn discussed each track on BOATS in this interview: https://www.sweetyhigh.com/read/brynn-cartelli-based-on-a-true-story-ep-interview-052821 Brynn is really good at talking about her songs, it seems like that's a really important aspect nowadays in selling a song to an audience. People want to know the story of where the song came from, at least for people that are interested in singer songwriter artists. I don't know if anyone else noticed this, but it's been very difficult to track down who the composer is of each song. The four non-singles have blank composer fields on both Spotify and iTunes. Thankfully based on this interview and other things Brynn has said in the past I think these are what the composer credits are. I'm amazed that Brynn wrote Jane completely by herself. 1. If I Could - Brynn Cartelli and Ben Abraham 2. Imaginary Stranger - Brynn Cartelli, Adam Argyle, and Joe London (not sure if Adam was as writer or only produced, I'm thinking the later after reading another interview) 3. Long Way Home - Brynn Cartelli and Nathan Chapman 4. Love You in My Mind - Brynn Cartelli 5. We Belong - Brynn Cartelli and Martin Terefe 6. Jane - Brynn Cartelli
  11. Brynn said she's going live tonight right before midnight ET. Someone asked in a comment on her Jane post and answered. The other times when she's gone live on release day she announced it ahead of time.
  12. Is that Baby Brynn in this audio clip from Jane? After listening to it again it sounds like she's singing "You're a Grand Old Flag," so cute. https://www.instagram.com/p/CPZVVLjiQRl/
  13. One last before BOATS Spotify Stats check: Monthly listeners: 682,117 Followers: 58,885 If I Could: 2,186,186 Long Way Home: 1,246,920 I think If I Could passed the 2 million stream mark on Monday. Long Way Home has slowed down in streams, but it should get boosted again when people listen to the EP straight through.
  14. Brynn posted a preview clip of Imaginary Stranger on TikTok
  15. Since there are so many The Voice alums that are in Season 16 of AGT, there's probably people here that might be interested in attending a taping this summer. According to this article the show is planning to have live shows at the Dolby Theater again. There aren't any tickets available at the moment, but you can sign up for the mailing list to be notified when tickets are posted. https://on-camera-audiences.com/shows/Americas_Got_Talent https://www.tvinsider.com/998322/americas-got-talent-season-16-simon-cowell-sofia-vergara-preview/
  16. JEJ Vinson is going to be competing on the upcoming season of America’s Got Talent as part of the trio 3D. JEJ also recently graduated from USC's Thornton School of Music. https://www.instagram.com/p/CPTb6Lupr4h/?utm_medium=copy_link
  17. Last week when I was in the virtual audience for The Voice I (and I'm assuming a few others) asked Bill, the warm up guy, about when in studio audiences would be back for The Voice. He said said hopefully in June. It sounded basically like educated conjecture on his part, he did the audience warm up for the Billboard Awards this weekend and they had a vaccination requirement. It seems the event hired a firm to vet all the vaccination cards submitted by people and then they were given the actual ticket after they were verified as being fully vaccinated. For that event they still had people wear masks and it was outdoors, but they were packed in GA style. 1iota is also doing The iHeartRadio Awards this week which also requires full vaccination. I noticed 1iota's in person events in Nashville are still using Covid Testing instead of requiring full vaccination. Someone had asked Bill earlier in the taping why The Voice had stayed virtual when Idol switched to having "real people". Bill said it was because if you look at Idol, they are only allowed to bring in 60 people and they have to wear masks so you can't see their faces and they also aren't able to generate very much noise. It sounds like it was The Voice producers preference to be able to see faces and have a larger group.
  18. Brynn posted a preview clip of We Belong on Instagram and Facebook that didn't get posted on here. It's about summer in a small town. https://www.instagram.com/p/CPG_CmgiZ6g/
  19. I think part of it is because Brynn's hard core fans have heard her sing the entire song not that long after she first wrote it two years ago and the final arrangement isn't that different from the live acoustic version. I think Jane has a good chance of catching on since it is more personal. In addition to posting the TikTok preview of Jane she also posted some interesting behind the scenes clips and pictures on her IG story about making the song before she posted the link to the TikTok video. The original demo for the song was almost six minutes long and she included a clip from it where you can literally hear her crying. I'm going to embed the Jane video for convenience:
  20. If you guys didn't catch the Cover Nation show live, I highly recommend you make some time to watch it, the whole thing was about 35 minutes long. Brynn sang 3 covers that have really influenced her that she's never really played for anyone before. She also sang If I Could and Love You In My Mind. Brynn also answered some fan questions in between the songs and talked about a few songs that are on the EP. The things she said about "Jane" make me look forward to hearing that one the most, she talks about that towards the end of the show before the last song.
  21. Thinking about it, doesn't NBC usually have the new coach participate in their upfronts presentation? The presentation was this morning, but I guess Ariana was busy being a newlywed, haha.
  22. Comparing the numbers from the past couple of days this appearance doesn't seem to have affected the trajectory of any of the stats on Spotify. Monthly listeners: 525,220 Followers: 53,911 If I Could: 1,344,069 Long Way Home: 1,036,716
  23. Here's the performance to go along with interview:
  24. I don't think these numbers reflect the affect of the TKCS appearance yet because they first appeared before the episode aired in a lot of markets: Monthly listeners: 509,271 Followers: 53,715 If I Could: 1,259,996 Long Way Home: 1,018,287
