Hello everyone! I thought it was a good idea to finally make a thread for this so we can stop flooding the spoilers thread with social media info. I’ve been pretty sick for the past 2 days and i’m stuck on bed so I decided to do a deep analysis of the social media data we have for the season since I can’t do anything but rest LOL. I thought it could be nice to share it with everyone else since I know a lot of folks are invested on the season as well! I gathered all the data from the video of the performances from the lives shows so far on the 3 plataforms Idol uses: Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok!

Some interesting observations:

 - “Bring Me To Life” and “Coal Miner’s Daughter” are definitely the two most popular performances of the live shows so far. 

 - Jack’s best numbers are on Tik Tok. On Facebook and Instagram, he’s always on the bottom half of the stats aside from “Always On My Mind”, which definitely resonated well with members of all 3 plataforms. 

- Mckenna had decent numbers here and there so she seems to have a decent base of support. Not sure if that’s enough for her to escape the bottom 2 next week tho. 

- Tristan’s numbers were very consistent all across the board… up until the last episode. Kinda the inverse situation of Jack, whose numbers were weak up until that same episode. 

 

Averages of Instagram, Facebook and Tik Tok combined:

Will has done better on IG than I would have expected. 
 

KB killed the TikTok and IG stats, but not Facebook. 

 

Will has had the top Facebook view/react ratio on every round, the morning after the performances. Triston has been the second most consistent on this, but there were signs of trouble after the Monday episode. We’ll need to wait and see if he bounces back this week. 
 

Abi and Emmy had big weeks in terms of raw social media stats, but we’ll have to see if they can build on that this week.

Abi seems to be boom or bust on Facebook. This last week was obviously boom. 
 

Emmy had been getting middle of the road views and likes most weeks, but her ratios and comments have not been so good. Her comments are not even good under the CMD video. Feel free to go check. It’s brutal. For the record, I liked the performance quite a bit, but I didn’t vote for her. 
 

I agree Abi is more likely of the two to maintain some momentum, as I’ve had her as a likely finalist for quite some time.

 - if these stats means anything, we have a clear (and close asf) final 3. I still struggle to see triston out of the finale even tho his stats are extremely weak.

 

 - emmy and triston did way better with likes on their voting banners than on their performance videos. lowkey scary because that means their bases are active/showy while the voting is actually happening LOL. 

 

 - hello was the most popular performance of the week on all plataforms. meanwhile will and jack had a balanced showing on both of theirs in 2/3 of the plataforms. will first one didn't do well on instagram while jack's first one did really poorly on tik tok tho. 

 

- some of emmy’s numbers could be inflanted due to the engagement on the comments of her posts because that keeps them active on peoples timelines. her posts usually has 2/3x times the amount of comments than the ones from the other four. 80% of them are extremely negative tho. her posts are kinda working as a showboard for the viewers to debate and fume.

Speaking of “while the voting is actually happening,” I’ve noticed something the last couple of weeks with the Facebook voting banners. I don’t know what exactly it means, but it has to mean something. Why does Will get so many more shares on the voting banners? This also applies to Triston to a lesser degree. The two with the least amount of shares were eliminated.

Yeah I have no idea what to make of those LOL Tristan and Emmy did so much better on the voting posts than in their actual video performances. The disconnect is weird. I feel like based on the data, I should assume Jack has been doing better on the voting than Triston for the past 2 weeks but the way that Triston post for his dance song got almost 9k likes still shows that his base is strong? I don’t really know. His numbers for the past 2 weeks have decreased in big scale.

Decided to do a Google Trends analysis with everyone but Emmy (because her numbers would be inflated for obvious reasons) since I remember people did some during past seasons and the data there for the past 30 days shows: Abi > Jack > Will > Triston.

unfortunately the states that Abi doesn't occupy are probably the states where a good amount of the votes are coming from lol

It does! The darker ones is where the searches numbers and intensity are stronger in comparison to the others.
