aliasocfan
Final Destination 2 (2003 dir. by David R. Ellis) I will start with the positives in the movie: the opening scene is absolutely fantastic. I still cannot follow a truck with logs on it and not think of this movie. The tie in to the first movie was wonderfully done. The ripple effect of the others being alive longer than they should have been was clever. I also enjoyed the concept of the order being reversed. Now onto what I did not like about this movie. I disliked the very strong change in tone. Which is sadly normal for sequels. Instead of suspense and atmosphere, they just amped up the gore and body count. I also think I remember seeing somewhere that they used different takes of the mother after her son was squashed. Apparently it was too emotional...Uh... You had a mother outlive her child: traumatic. You had her son die a violent death: also traumatic. You had her witness it: very freaking traumatic. If you don't want to deal with the actual emotional consequences of something, use a different tactic. To end this on a much lighter note, Alex dying off screen was so lame it's hilarious. And Clear Rivers deserved better.
aliasocfan
Hatchet II (2010 dir. by Adam Green) Danielle Harris is great. B movie that are stupid and embrace it can be fun. This is a fair enough spot for this to leave. Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010 dir. by Paul W. S. Anderson) Imagine introducing Chris Redfield only to have him never interact with Jill Valentine. At least they got some fun Prison Break references. Yay.

aliasocfan
Arachnophobia (1990 dir. by Frank Marshall) Spiders are evil. Movies about spiders are even worse. All copies of this movie should be burned because spiders should never be seen. Count Yorga, Vampire (1970 dir. by Blob Kelljan) Was supposed to be porn, but got turned into a horror movie. Makes sense honestly.
Elliott
Did anyone else pre-order the 16-disc Friday the 13th set from Scream Factory or just me? Because they just announced this morning they FINALLY tracked down all the deleted footage from part two and got Amy Steel to record a commentary.
