I agree. The performance definitely had much darker undertones than some of her others, but I enjoyed seeing this other side of her. I'm glad Facebook enjoyed it.

I hope Reba will take more female country singers to the lives. I know we got blessed this season, but I’m greedy. Hoping to have time to run at least one fan thread this time around too.

Thankfully, I should have more time to follow this season! The panel seems promising, but as always, I am more interested in the cast of contestants.

I honestly wish I had more time to invest in this season and this cast (but life is hard sometimes lol) because despite the awful format, I really feel like this season was one of the best in terms of talent. I am so happy to see Grace and Gina in the Top 2 (though I will admit that I am a bit biased because they were the only two I actually had time to actually follow this season… ) Anyway, congrats to Gina and cheers to Blake on his last season!

This makes me really sad. I’m glad she’s being given the opportunity to serve as a coach on a season without Blake.

Definitely excited for Reba! I am interested to see how Gwen is without Blake. Niall did a really nice job during his first time as a coach, so I’m not upset to see him come back (though I would’ve preferred Chance.) I’m eh about John, but oh well lol.

Maybe it’s just me who’s observing this, but the double standards towards certain contestants are so evident sometimes. Behavior in one contestant may be labeled as arrogant or pandering but when similar behavior is seen in another it’s praised as confidence.

Honestly really love HYCA I think Love is Alive has grown to be my favorite though.

That’s definitely true. I have enjoyed Holly’s run but I find her performances to be a bit “too perfect” and gimmicky if that makes any sort of sense. I think in a genre like country your priority should be storytelling and I feel that is where Grace excels. I think the perfect example of this is the Knockout round: Holly delivered a stunning vocal, but I more often come back to Grace’s because of how genuine and almost conversational the performance was.

Part of it is that I’ve been more interested in Idol and since they tend to overlap I have to make a choice as to which I will watch. Idol has the better format and has done a much better job getting me invested in the cast so I usually go with that one. But, at the same time, Grace West is, in my humble opinion, the best country singer on the two shows so I always eagerly anticipate her performances.

No but nothing against them… they’re all very talented!!
