I don’t think Maelyn and Gyth were close in votes (because of the vote split), the problem with Maelyn is that she didn’t create as much buzz or had as much support as Sawyer or Jordan. I do think some people’s fanatism over their snowflake blinds them from seeing the truth, so that’s how Maelyn is winning the poll.

Yep. I don’t understand how anyone would think Maelyn, Alisan or Danielle would win in this situation if they competed against those two. Maelyn, who is winning in votes, would lose to both of them in their respective seasons by a landslide (even if she’s my favorite out of the three)

I think a lot of people use the term bus when their snowflakes flop, because they can’t admit that their favorite isn’t perfect. However, Kyla was definitely bussed, her original and solo choices alone were a double decker bus, although I think Brynn would have won anyways.

More of an Alisan/Adam situation. The IDF favorite and TCO with an amazing run vs. the Team Blake frontrunner and Minivan's favorite who also is a threat for being actually talented (I think Todd is better than Adam tho)

Honestly, Mandi. I loved her BA and KO, which is enough to put her above everyone else. Hasta la Raíz I also would have loved to see her singing La Despedida by Cami. The song is so good that it wouldn’t have mattered that 90% of the audience didn’t understand her.

Mia Z, no contest. IMO one of the best voices to ever be on the show. She had range for days and an awesome and unique tone #robbed But I do hope someone like the lead singer from Kaleo comes to the show, he’d be an instant snowflake of mine

Mr. Brightside is one of my favorite songs of my favorite band of all time, but I think it would be a very bad song choice for Micah, I just don’t think its the best song to sing in a singing competition. Also, I can’t see him singing it well, even if it is previously recorded. James Wolpert sang it back in S5 and it was a mess (this was live tho) Not only that song, every Killers song is a big risk. However, I wish someone at least tried to pull off A Dustland Fairytale, it’s such a masterpiece.

Season 5 is the only season in which all finalists were deserving and had multiple moments during their run on the show.

Gwen picking Taylor John Williams over Troy Ritchie, and Adam picking Damien over Toia, both in S7. These aren’t technically bad decisions, (Damien made finale and TJW made semifinals) but after watching Toia and Troy’s performances again, I still can’t believe their coaches eliminated them at that moment. An actual dumb decision would be Xtina bringing back Nick Hagelin as her comeback. Idk if it was her or the producers’ idea, but it was horrible either way to bring back the worst singer to ever be on the Voice.

I do think that is positive to let artists to do whatever they want, which is the reason why I think he is at least a solid coach, but what I meant is that he doesn’t deserve as much credit as he gets for his artists’ good song choices. He is a very safe coach. No risks, no surprises and you can often predict what his artists are going to sing, which makes Blake hard for me to root for. Don’t get me wrong, I think going for something safe is a smart decision. But a lot of the best performances from the show come from risks that paid off but at the same time didn’t take away from the artist’s own identity. One example of that is God’s Country by Rose.

Chris had his appeal and he killed it on finale night, I’ll agree to that. But Lauren’s song choices were so obscure and boring that prevented her from gaining any new fans, and that was the crucial factor in Lauren’s loss IMO. With better song choices, Lauren would have won for sure, even if we take Rhythm Nation into account (Carson said the Top 2 was extremely close in votes, a better run of song choices would have made a difference without a doubt)

Looking at the Best Coaches thread and poll, a lot of people voted Blake. I said he was solid, but I don’t think he is as good as some people think he is. His coaching is basically letting the artist do whatever they want most of the time (p.e Chloe) and because of his fanbase they move forward over other artists from different teams regardless of their talent, and his success makes him look as the best coach. But when he actually gets involved on his artist’s song choices (p.e Lauren), he screws up badly like most of the other coaches (I would say Lauren’s loss was Blake’s fault, not Chris’ extreme pimping) He knows what works and what doesn’t better than the others, but his success as a coach is thanks to his appeal and his fanbase, not because he is a good coach.

Honestly, this season is absent of any big robbery. I could say Kailey, but she was almost as bad as her opponent, so I wasn’t mad about it. Maybe because of the lack of live rounds.
