Note: It appears that the departure of John Marks, the former head of Spotify's Country Division (and Scotty supporter), has had a big time impact on Scotty's streaming #s -- and not in a good way. BL, there's simply no excuse for the huge disparity between Scotty's streaming numbers at Spotify (6.4M) and his streaming numbers at Pandora/Sirius (30M)! 

Reminder:  It's all about streaming and Spotify is the largest streamer in music with a consistent 32% share of the market.  The other 68% (Apple, Amazon et al) don't publicly post their artist-specific numbers; fortunately, Pandora does (via a subscription service). In Between made the jump from #8 to #1, but IB was much closer at the time in terms of spins to the #1 artist. The #1 song generally has about 8200+ spins & the largest push to #1 by an artist has been around 1600 bullet on push week. YT is currently at about 5700 spins. That's not considering that Justin Moore & Luke Bryan likely will reach #1. I wouldn't be surprised if Luke is a multi-week #1 either. There's too much distance between him & Lainey Wilson in terms of spins which could mean a multi-week #1 unless Lainey's single starts closing the huge gap fast or Luke's single "freefalls" after hitting #1.

Note: It appears that the departure of John Marks, the former head of Spotify's Country Division (and Scotty supporter), has had a big time impact on Scotty's streaming #s -- and not in a good way. BL, there's simply no excuse for the huge disparity between Scotty's streaming numbers at Spotify (6.6M) and his streaming numbers at Pandora/Sirius (30M)! 

Reminder:  It's all about streaming and Spotify is the largest streamer in music with a consistent 32% share of the market.  The other 68% (Apple, Amazon et al) don't publicly post their artist-specific numbers; fortunately, Pandora does (via a subscription service). Note: It appears that the departure of John Marks, the former head of Spotify's Country Division (and Scotty supporter), has had a big time impact on Scotty's streaming #s -- and not in a good way. BL, there's simply no excuse for the huge disparity between Scotty's streaming numbers at Spotify (6.8M) and his streaming numbers at Pandora/Sirius (32M)! 

Reminder:  It's all about streaming and Spotify is the largest streamer in music with a consistent 32% share of the market.  The other 68% (Apple, Amazon et al) don't publicly post their artist-specific numbers; fortunately, Pandora does (via a subscription service). And even though Pandora streams don't count for RIAA purposes, they can provide us with a  'window' into what's happening behind the  'Apple/Amazon/Other' curtain.
